Tom Wilson’s reputation for physical play was on full display Saturday night in the Washington Capitals’ 5–1 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Just days after taking a puck to the face for the second time this season and receiving more than 20 stitches, Wilson dropped the gloves with Sharks' Zack Ostapchuk in a one-sided fight.

The no-contest bout caught the attention of former NHL defenseman PK Subban, who lost no time and jumped on social networks to share his thoughts on it.

"Tom Wilson is a beast," Subban posted on X, reacting to Wilson’s dominant showing.

The fight took place in the second period, with Wilson landing five consecutive rights to Ostapchuk’s head before wrestling him to the ice without giving him a chance to counterattack.

Officials stepped in as Wilson removed his own helmet and headed to the penalty box, where the two continued exchanging words.

The fight was part of a heated stretch in the game, which saw multiple scrums and another fight just 41 seconds later when Brandon Duhaime overwhelmed Noah Gregor with a flurry of punches.

After a roughing call on Mario Ferraro gave the Capitals a power play, tensions escalated further.

Capitals' Jakob Chychrun took a run at Vincent Desharnais, earning two minor penalties and sparking a near-line brawl as both teams engaged in a shoving scuffle.

Despite the physicality he tends to show on a nightly basis, Wilson contributed beyond just his fists on Saturday, recording two assists in the win to reach 56 points in 66 games this season.

Meanwhile, teammate Alex Ovechkin kept his historic chase going and put a cap to the final 5-2 score, netting the 887th goal of his career.

The win strengthened the Capitals' position atop the Metropolitan division, now boasting a 44-15-8 record and 96 points, tied for the most in the NHL with the Western Conference's best Winnipeg Jets.
