Nick Knowles reveals health update with fans as he shares first video from hospital following surgery after injuring himself on Strictly liennhi

Nick Knowles has revealed he now has a 'reattched bicep' after surgery following injuries he sustained in rehearsals for Strictly Come Dancing.

The DIY SOS star, 62, took to Twitter on Thursday and shared a video from his hospital bed where he told fans he has 'two or three months' of physiotherapy ahead.

He said: 'Just woken up from my op. All went well by all accounts so I have a reattached bicep now so bit of physio over the next two or three months and all should be right as rain and back to 100% I think.

'So that's one down and one to go on the knee,' he added and captioned the video: 'All done - thanks to Mr Ahrens the surgeon and all the medical staff'.

Nick and his professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk were forced to pull out of Movie Week after the star hurt his shoulder and knee.

Nick fell and injured his knee during a jump, leaving him on crutches and heading to hospital for an MRI scan.

The TV presenter was well enough to return to Strictly but his comeback was short lived as he became the third celebrity eliminated on Sunday.

Nick and Luba lost the dance-off to Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu

Both couples performed their routines again; Shayne and Nancy performed their Cha Cha to Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use) by Sub Sub feat. Melanie Williams.

Then, Nick and Luba performed their Charleston to Rain on the Roof from the film Paddington 2.

However, despite narrowly making it back into the competition as he recovered from a shoulder and knee injury, Nick, 62, was soon sent home by all four judges - Shirley BallasCraig Revel HorwoodMotsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke

When asked by Tess about their time on the show, Nick said: 'I've really, really been surprised by how much I've loved doing it and by two things that happen.'

He explained: 'One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don't want to let down your partner.

'The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba's changes, she's been amazing.'

Luba said: 'I've never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you'll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you.'

When asked by Tess about his partner Luba, Nick shared: 'Luba's been amazing and just been so fabulous every day.

'And I should say thank you also to all the background staff, the physios, all the people that have actually got me through this week, and to all of my fellow competitors who have been absolutely astounding, beautiful people.

'There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series.'

The remaining 12 couples will take to the dancefloor next week when 'Strictly Come Dancing' returns on Saturday 19 October, with the results show on Sunday 20 October on BBC One.

Both of this weekend's episodes are available to watch now via BBC iPlayer.
