The Real Housewives of Atlanta are in turmoil. Two of them are in nasty court battles with their estranged husbands. Another just got exposed via a poster board at the Kenya Moore Hair Spa. Let’s not even talk about the fact that one of the Housewives got kicked off the show two episodes ago.
There have been six episodes of nonstop discord, so in the grand tradition of the Bravo universe, it’s time to take a cast trip. Surely, that will help ease the tension. Right? On The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 Episode 7 “Nashville Hold Em’,” the ladies headed to Nashville to try to figure it out.
What happened in The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 Episode 7?
Although Kelli’s Peace Brunch ended in a big fight, the ladies continued to try to move forward with Season 16, regardless of its rocky start. This week, Porsha planned a birthday trip to Nashville with a hand-picked guest list. Meanwhile, the cameras followed Drew and Ralph to the courthouse, as the two continued to duke it out in their contentious divorce. Keep on reading for the full tea on Episode 7.
Brit is still bouncing back
In Episode 7, Brit is in much better spirits than the last few times we’ve seen her. She’s had a rough start, but her husband tried to make up for it by taking her shopping for a Ferrari. Whether or not anything actually made it off the lot that day is still up for debate.
Either way. Brit said that we “can’t hold a bad bitch down for long,” so she felt ready to move forward from the drama with Kenya. Instead, she’s shifting gears and starting a feud with Angela. She’s still holding onto her story about her insurance license being in jeopardy, and she’s mad that Angela questioned the accuracy of that claim.
According to Brit, the fact that Angela dared to question the story about her insurance license was a sign that Angela lacks empathy. To hit back at her, she proceeded to drop a major accusation about her NBA legend hubby, Charles Oakley.
“Well, there has been some whispers that Charles had a baby on her,” Brit claimed. “For you to have so much to say about what’s been going on with me, it seems like you need to be more worried about what’s going on with your man because these rumors don’t just fall out of the sky, sweetie.”
Porsha’s invite-only Nashville trip
While Brit was Ferrari shopping and dropping bombshell allegations about Angela’s husband, Porsha met up with Kelli, Shamea, and Cynthia to get all of the tea on the Peace Brunch since she called in sick that day. More importantly, she had to tee up the upcoming cast trip for her birthday.
Porsha told the ladies that she planned a trip to Nashville in the spirit of Cowboy Carter. She said she was inviting her sister, Monyetta Shaw, and a handful of other random people vying for a few seconds of RHOA screentime. Porsha said she wanted this to be an intimate event, so the entire new RHOA cast got invited except for Drew. According to the birthday girl, she was open to moving forward with Drew, just not on this trip.
That’s totally fair, but Angela had other plans. Privately, she encouraged Drew to come along on the trip as her plus one. It’s the level of audacity we need in this group to keep things spicy. Give Angela her props for being messy in a good way.
Detective Drew is on Brit’s case
When everything went down at the grand opening of the hair spa, Drew was the only Housewife to stand by Kenya’s side. With that in mind, Brit invited her out for drinks to try to get Drew to detach herself from Team Twirl.
Drew agreed to meet up with the RHOA newbie, but she went into full-blown detective mode once they sat down. It only took one sip of her cocktail, and Drew jumped into a line of questions for Brit. She was like, “I want real answers about your past. Did you ever sell the cat? Did you ever do porn?”
These are the questions we’ve all been wondering, and to Brit’s credit, she answered them pretty candidly. She said that she never worked as an escort, but admitted to being a retired cam girl. She said her cam girl career only lasted for a week, but she and a friend supposedly made really good money doing it. No shame in the game, but the bottom line from Brit was that she never filmed pornography. With that, Drew’s case is now closed
Ralph and Drew go another round in the courtroom
Poor Drew was busy as hell in this episode. They had her running all around Atlanta. Not only did she have to meet up with Brit to talk about her past as a cam girl, but then she had to turn around and face off with Ralph in a major divorce court battle.
On one side of the ring, you had Drew and her layer. They had three goals for the court date: get Ralph out of the basement, obtain his financial records, and seal the documents of the divorce. Her attorney seemed confident they could get all of that achieved.
In the other corner, Ralph sat with his new lawyer, the third one to take on his case. The cameras showed her gassing Ralph up ahead of the trial, insisting that they would take down Drew. She was like, “This is a money grab!”
Fast forward a couple of hours, and things couldn’t have gone worse for Drew. The divorce file? It’s unsealed. Ralph’s financial records? Those are on lock. The basement? Ralph is still in it. Drew said the outcome of the case felt like a nightmare scenario.
“Was there ever love, was there ever a friendship? I just feel ike we were better than this,” she lamented in a confessional.
Atlanta takes over Nashville
Cowboy Carter is fab, but the back half of this episode was all about Cowgirl Williams. The ladies embarked on their trip to Nashville, and it felt like the classic Housewives. There wasn’t a single reference to a pistol.
The ladies pulled up to their beautiful home and were greeted with cocktails, only to find out that this palatial estate, somehow, wouldn’t have enough bedrooms for all of them. We’ve seen this before, and we love it every time.
Meanwhile, Angela missed her flight and showed up at the house separately from the rest of the group. Approximately five seconds after her arrival, she sat down and dropped the news about her plus-one.
“I’d like for Drew to come,” Angela told the group, more so telling them than asking them.
Porsha simply could not wrap her head around the concept of Angela wanting Drew, of all people, on a birthday trip where she was specifically not invited. However, Angela spent the rest of the episode standing firm in her decision to extend that invitation. Otherwise. Drew would have spent her entire weekend at Dennis’ hookah bar, so in some ways, maybe Angela was doing Porsha a favor.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta continues on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
