Channel 10 has gone into damage control after appearing to leak the identity of one of the campmates from the new season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
A social media post from Channel 10 appears to have accidentally revealed the identity of one of the campmates from the new season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
The reality juggernaut sees a group of Aussie “celebrities” battle it out in the South African jungle and is set to return to screens later this month for an eleventh season.
Ten is in the midst of its traditional teaser campaign to drum up interest in the upcoming season, which is currently in pre-production in South Africa.
Among the 2025 campmates, the network has teased a “comedy Genius, a Pop Culture Icon, a Star of the Silver Screen, a Matinee Idol, a Leading Lady, a Sporting Hero and a Football Strongman”.
However, the network’s social media team appeared to reveal more than they bargained for after dropping a teaser video to Instagram on Monday about one of the new stars.
While the celebrity’s face was hidden and her voice was distorted, fans were able to recognise the star's distinctive engagement ring.
Within hours, eagle-eyed viewers appeared to confirm that the mystery celebrity is TV host Nicky Buckley after cross checking the ring with photos from her public Instagram feed.
Buckley, 59, is a veteran TV personality best known for hosting Sale of the Century in the 1990s.
The clues also appeared to link straight back to Buckley, with a TV emoji likely a nod to her long career on Sale of the Century and the dancing emoji an homage to her appearance on Dancing With The Stars in 2005.
Ten deleted the post from Instagram within hours but not before online forums and news outlets began reporting on the blunder.
The reveal comes as fans speculate the “star of the silver screen” is either Sigrid Thornton, star of 1982's Man from Snowy River, or showbiz veteran Claudia Karvan.
This year’s cast will likely also include a cross section of reality TV contestants, with rumoured names including Drag Race Down Under star Kween Kong, Married At First Sight bride Jessika Power and former Bachelorette Georgia Love.
