Melissa Gorga took one for the team while filming a past season of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
During an April 2025 sit down with “Page Six Radio,” the RHONJ veteran revealed that she once had to turn down an invitation from Christina Aguilera due to her filming obligations for Bravo.
In the interview, Gorga revealed that she met the Grammy-winning music superstar through a mutual hairstylist and that they’ve gone out to dinner together “multiple times” since, in both New Jersey and Los Angeles. But there was one invite from Aguilera that Gorga had to turn down due to her “Real Housewives” filming schedule, and she still can’t get over it.
“A couple times she invited me [to things] and I was filming, I couldn’t go,” Gorga shared on the podcast. “Another time she invited me to her birthday, I couldn’t go. I was like, ‘I can’t believe [this]!’”
Gorga agreed that she should have told production that she could be hanging out with Christina Aguilera, but had to host a party for RHONJ instead.
“I know, can you believe?” she said. “See, I’m so professional.”
Gorga has been friendly with Aguilera for at least seven years. In 2018, she posted a photo of herself and the “Genie in a Bottle” singer on Facebook. Gorga captioned the chummy pic with, “So proud of @xtina for #Liberation, I’m so in love with it! She has the voice of an angel Congrats!! love you!”
Christina Aguilera Wants to Visit Melissa Gorga’s Shore House
While speaking about her surprising friendship with Aguilera, Gorga dished that the singer even contacted her about visiting her house at the Jersey shore. The Tom’s River, New Jersey beach house has been featured on RHONJ several times since the Gorgas purchased it in 2019.
“She reached out to me to come to the shore house because she goes to [Long Beach Island] during the summer,” Gorga said of Aguilera. “Her partner [Matthew Rutler] is from New Jersey, and he has a home on LBI or they go there every year. And so she calls me in the summer to, like, connect.”
Melissa Gorga Is Happy Not to Film at Her New Jersey Shore House This Summer
With RHONJ currently on hiatus amid the possibility of a full reboot or cast shakeup, Gorga will have some extra time this summer.
In a March 2025 interview with Extra, the longtime RHONJ star said she’s fine with the production delay and is excited to enjoy her summer without any filming commitments. “I’m not mad at it,” Gorga said of the filming break. “I am so Iooking forward to having my summer off, you know? Every summer we film at my shore house, so I’m excited to actually have a summer…no cameras, just chilling.”
“I’m like not mad at the pause,” Gorga added. “I’m really not. I’m like ‘okay.’”
Bravo put “The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ on pause in mid-2024, and there is still no word on the future of the show.
