Mark Wright has made a big career announcement just days after he and pregnant wife Michelle Keegan were left terrified over a burglary at their £3.5million mansion.

The former TOWIE star, 38, and actress Michelle, 37, who are expecting their first child together, reportedly locked themselves in a bedroom when 'four masked raiders broke into their home around 6pm' at their home in Essex on Tuesday.

However, in some good news for the couple, it has been announced that Mark is set to host a brand new breakfast show on Heart Radio alongside Olly Murs.

The singer, 40, will join his good friend and long-time Heart Radio presenter Mark for a brand new Saturday Breakfast show, which is set to kick off on March 1.

The show will air from 9am - 12pm, which is a switch-up from Mark's usual afternoon slot.

Sharing his excitement at the new venture, the TV and radio star said: 'It’s not every day that you get to work with your mate, and I just can’t wait for Olly to join Heart.

'I just know our listeners are going to love listening to Olly every Saturday morning, and we promise to bring you all the good laughs, fun and banter!'

Meanwhile, Olly added: 'I’m absolutely buzzing to be sharing my Saturday mornings with Wrighty and the Heart listeners. They’ve actually given us our own radio show – can you believe it?!

'We have such a laugh off air, so I know we’ll have a great time doing this together. Expect plenty of banter, big entertainment, and obviously a bit of healthy competition. Can’t wait!!'

While Heart’s Managing Editor Richard Steel said: 'We’re so excited to officially welcome Olly to Heart! He’s already a great friend of the station, and I know our listeners are going to love him on the radio. Olly and Mark have such an infectious energy together, it’s the perfect way to start the weekend!'

Amid the announcement, Mark and Olly took to their respective Instagram accounts to share a humorous clip confirming the big news.

Following their initial excitement at working together, the pair joked about what the name would be for the show, with both arguing that their own name should come first in the title.

The big news was met with a plethora of positive comments from their excited fans, who predicted 'double trouble' was on its way.

It comes after Mark, 38, and Michelle, 37, who were said to be 'very shaken up' following the ordeal, allegedly heard their patio window smash and their security alarm go off before rushing to a bedroom for safety.

It is reported four suspects entered their sprawling property for around a minute but hurried away when Mark started yelling.

According to The Sun, police were alerted via their 'state-of-the-art security system and arrived at the couple’s Essex mansion within minutes'.

The gang of raiders were reportedly 'wearing balaclavas and dressed in black fled the scene empty-handed in a getaway car'.

A source told the publication: 'It was a traumatic experience for both of them but they are relieved that neither of them were injured.

'Mark did the sensible thing and stayed with his wife to make sure she was OK and they waited for police to arrive before leaving the room.

'It was a horrible thing to go through, particularly for someone who is heavily pregnant. They are understandably very shaken up by what happened.'

Detectives reportedly believe the gang were professionals 'looking for a big score' on the countryside property’s extensive grounds.

A camera allegedly detected the gang arriving to the house and sent alerts to Mark and Michelle's phone.

The source added: 'Mark realised someone was breaking into the house, his first thoughts were for Michelle’s protection and he acted swiftly.'

The TOWIE star and his actress wife moved into their stunning home just over two years ago, after purchasing the property in 2019 for £1.3million.

The jaw-dropping mansion features five bedrooms, bar, cinema room, sauna, a custom-built kitchen, as well as an at-home gym, a five-a-side football pitch or the kitchen.

The happy couple have been together for well over a decade and married in a £1million ceremony in Suffolk in 2015.
