Maks Chmerkovskiy & Peta Murgatroyd Address ‘Divorce’ & Why They Never Even Say the Word trucc

Dancing With the Stars” cast members Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd have been together for more than a decade. After a breakup, a marriage, and three babies, the two are more in love than ever before. And there’s one thing that they don’t ever talk about — and that’s divorce.

On the February 14 episode of the “Amy & T.J.” podcast, Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd said they never even utter the “d” word.

“Have you all ever come close to, or at least said, threatened to break up, to get divorced? Do you go nuclear in moments?” host Amy Robach asked the couple.

“God, no. I think if that happened, like those words, like, ‘I feel like we’re gonna get divorced,’ or something like that… Oh my God, no. That would almost put a seed into our heads that that was gonna happen in the future,” Murgatroyd responded.

“Obviously it’s not gonna happen. No, I think it’s too late for us at this point,” Chmerkovskiy added.

Maks Chmerkovskiy & Peta Murgatroyd Don’t Swear at One Another

As part of their interview with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy talked about what keeps their marriage healthy and strong. For starters, communication is key, and the duo also said their chemistry is also a secret ingredient.

Part of all of that includes being respectful when they fight.

“We don’t swear at each other,” Murgatroyd said.

“You swear at somebody else. I’m not the guy to say, you know, not to curse, but. At her? Like, you know, you are this and that and the other, like even in dramatic, you know, because I’m passionate,” Chmerskovskiy continued.

“I think it’s so hurtful,” his wife added. She said that if Chmerkovskiy swore at her or called her an expletive, she thinks it would really “tarnish” their relationship.

Holmes was really impressed by that comment and said it was a “small but such a significant thing.”
