MAFS Australia’s most controversial couple have revealed the real reason for their split, after a year together. 

Jack and Tori became one of the most explosive pairings in the franchise's global history and it seemed almost certain that their union was doomed to fail.

They announced their split in March

But in March, the pair revealed that they’d decided to break up. 

Posting an emotional statement, they wrote to fans: “If you have been following our journey, you know we have always been authentic and true to ourselves. 

“We have invited you in and brought you along for the wild ride

“However today we come to you with heavy hearts. As of a few weeks ago, we have decided to end our romantic relationship. 

“We remain best of friends and still care for and respect one another deeply.” 

There has been speculation as to why the couple split after they announced they were parting ways.

 
But Tori appeared keen to set the record straight while appearing on the MAFS Funny podcast recently. 

Asked about why they split, Tori explained: “Jack and I just never got to that point of falling deeply in love with one another. 

“People I think are expecting this really juicy tea, where someone did something really nasty to the other person and it’s just vile. 

“But it’s just not the case. Nothing happened and no one did anyone dirty, we’re just the best of friends.”

The podcast host asked the MAFS star if she carried on the relationship because everyone wanted them to break up. 

Tori responded: “All the nasty, vile people that wished us ill and had all those nasty things to say about us and the naysayers, we’ve effectively validated their s***** comments.

“I hate that I’m giving these nasty, nasty people this satisfaction.” 

Tori said that she and Jack are still living in the same apartment and go to the gym together, and assured the hosts that they’re the “best of mates.” 

The pair were living together in the Gold Coast of Australia.

When they first got together on the show, Jack was branded a "walking red flag" by fans.

In scenes screened when they first met, he told the camera: "She seems sweet. I think she'll challenge me a little bit, but I definitely reckon I'll sort her out, and we'll have a good time.

"I definitely want to play that dominant role to Tori; it might be a bit of a power struggle. But I feel like she's gonna be a good girl."

Some viewers were worried about Jack's comments about submissive women and immediately likened him to series 10 groom Harrison Boon, who was repeatedly called out by his co-stars and viewers for "gaslighting" bride  Bronte Schofield.
