"I'm sick of this."
Married at First Sight Australia groom Tim Gromie stormed out of the first dinner party of the experiment following an argument with co-star Jamie Marinos.
Tim is partnered with bride Katie in the experiment, but the two entered the dinner party separately after Tim told Katie he wasn't feeling a spark on their honeymoon.
At the dinner table, tensions rose as Jamie claimed Tim was "gaslighting" his bride and called him out for his behaviour, eventually leading to Tim walking out.
After spending time apart in their relationship, Katie and Tim finally had a chance to catch up at the dinner party following their unhappy honeymoon.
During their table chat, Tim blamed Katie for their problems, accusing her of "not wanting to get to know me at all" regarding his interests, hobbies, family and job.
Katie responded that she felt like she had tried to get to know him and they had talked about a lot of things, but Tim suggested she just knows "the surface-level things" about him.
Tim went on to suggest that Katie was who she was because of "being by herself for so many years" which was "a lot". Katie in return apologised to Tim and repeated that she had been trying to get to know him.
Across the table, Jamie voiced her frustrations about the conversation that had played out, believing Tim had acted "innocent" and made Katie feel bad.
"I feel like the whole script has been flipped," she said to Katie. "I saw your face Katie, and I was watching the whole time, and he was like 'you didn't ask any questions and you didn't do this'.
"I can see what is going on. I'm not stupid – it's a freaking gaslighting move," Jamie concluded.
She then turned her attention to Tim, saying that Katie was having a tough time, who replied to Jamie: "But you haven't got to know me to know what my story is."
Jamie explained that she had tried to chat to Tim about his relationship with Katie but that he kept changing the subject. She then asked if he was willing to give the relationship a go going forward, to which Tim replied: "We just had that conversation, that's between me and her."
Jamie then moved to the other end of the table and explained to her fellow brides what she had seen occur, when Carina decided to chat with Tim to find out his side of the story.
Carina asked Tim about his relationship, but Tim was frustrated and kept changing the subject, asking what Jamie had told her about him. Carina then asked a rattled Jamie to come over, and Jamie said that Tim was talking "bullshit".
Tim then got up and stormed out of the dinner party. "I'm sick of this shit," he said, walking out.
Tomorrow's episode teases the couples moving into their new apartments together as husband and wife, but will Tim and Katie be making the same move?
