Love Island All Stars winner Casey O'Gorman has shared the story behind his injury in the villa which led to him passing out, before he went on to win the show with Gabby Allen
Love Island All Stars winner Casey O'Gorman has opened up about the scary moment he passed out in the villa after hurting himself. Days before Monday night's live final, it was reported that 28 year old Casey had to take a time-out from filming after sustaining a worrying head injury and had to be checked over by medics.
Fresh from winning the show alongside Gabby Allen, 33, Casey spilled the beans during an Instagram Q&A aboard their flight back from South Africa. When one curious fan asked about what exactly happened, Casey replied with a selfie that showed off a gash on his forehead. He detailed in his reply how he "hit" his head on a wardrobe while packing, which led to him passing out at the sight of his own blood.
He said: "Right okay! ! So I was packing my suitcase and hit my head very hard on the wardrobe handle. Started bleeding quite badly and I'm awful with blood ... so then passed out from all the blood. But I'm all okay! Didn't need stitches and I never got rushed to hospital."
Casey also took to Snapchat to share more on the ordeal. He said: "For those wondering I walked into a wardrobe packing my suitcase before the final. Cut my head open and then passed out because I can't deal with blood", reports the Mirror.
Casey and Gabby are returning home as All Stars champions, announced by host Maya Jama during the live final on Monday. The pair beat runners-up Grace Jackson and Luca Bish to be crowned winners.
This victory is especially sweet for Casey, as it follows his close friend Tom Clare's success in the first All Stars series last year, when he won alongside Molly Smith. In a heartfelt acknowledgment, Casey reached out to supporters saying: "Thank you EVERYONE for the support it honestly means the world and we're still in disbelief. Thank you most importantly to my best mate [Tom] you are one of a kind. Now you can log out of my account."
Gabby also expressed her joy and gratefulness in a personal note: "GUESS WHO'S BACK. Ahhhh I can't put into words how shocked, happy, grateful and overwhelmed I feel right now. We can't thank you enough for voting for us as your winners, it means the world to us and we're eternally grateful. What an amazing experience and I found what I was looking for [Casey]."
