A Love Island favourite has reportedly signed up for Celebrity Big Brother.

Chris Hughes, 32, who gained fame on the 2017 series of Love Island, has reportedly signed on to appear in the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother. Producers are excited to feature Chris, who has successfully transitioned into a TV sports correspondent. They also predict that his massive social media following will attract a younger audience to the show.

During his time on the show, he formed a connection with Olivia Attwood, with whom he finished in third place. Their relationship continued off-screen, leading to a brief reality series titled Chris and Olivia: Crackin' On. Following their split, Hughes pursued various ventures, including a music career with co-star Kem Cetinay in the duo Chris & Kem, and later transitioned into his current role as a sports presenter.

Regarding his potential new venture on Celebrity Big Brother, a source shared with The Sun: "Producers think Chris will be a great addition to the house. He is really entertaining and was one of the most popular and iconic reality contestants with a massive social media following. Execs are hoping he will bring his huge young fanbase with him to the show, along with some juicy tales. He's got loads of showbiz mates and has some famous ex girlfriends - he'll be brilliant."

Chris is known for his relationships with celebrities, including Jesy Nelson. He and Jesy dated from January 2019 to April 2020. Jesy is now pregnant with singer Zion Foster. Chris also dated Annabel Dimmock, but they ended their 10-month romance in 2022.

Many other stars have been speculated to join the upcoming Celebrity Big Brother series, but ITV has yet to reveal the official line-up for the new season.

Professional boxer Tommy Fury, 25, was said to have been eyed up by producers towards the end of last year. It was reported back in October that "big money offers" were circulating, with it suggested that he could boost ratings.

It's been teased that former I'm A Celebrity campmate Rebekah Vardy, 42, who's married to Jamie Vardy, could be taking part in the new series. The speculation comes after Coleen Rooney - who won the 'Wagatha Christie' libel case brought against her by Rebekah in 2022 - was runner-up on I'm A Celebrity last year. It's been suggested that Rebekah would hope to experience similar reality TV "success" as Coleen.

As reported last month, a source told OK! magazine: "It's looking very likely that Rebekah Vardy could be doing Celebrity Big Brother. And Becky will be hoping very much to emulate Coleen's success in the jungle, and turn public opinion around totally, with a stint on the show."

Married At First Sight star Ella Morgan is also among the names rumoured to be joining the line-up. A source told the Sun in November: "[Ella] has had a meeting with ITV producers about appearing in the next series of Celebrity Big Brother. It's just early talks at this stage but Ella is really up for it and bosses were impressed by her." They added: "She knows how to bring drama [and] she is also a great representative of the LGBTQ+ community, so watch this space."

The broadcaster has not yet revealed a launch date, but it has previously stated that the new series is "set to air in the spring." The first series saw the likes of Louis Walsh, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Zeze Millz and Nikita Kuzmin live in the Big Brother house. David Potts ended up winning the show, which ran for just under three weeks, in March last year.
