A Love Island spin the bottle game is set to cause chaos after viewers were left confused over a new feud between contestants.
In the sneak peek for the next instalment of the reality series that will air Sunday (June 22), the Islanders are seen engaging in a hybrid game, blending elements from spin the bottle and truth or dare – with a marked preference for daring challenges. Early on in the teaser, Helena playfully commands Harry: "I dare you to go home".
As the preview unfolds, signs point to an atmosphere charged with rising heat and mounting tension, signalling a repeat of the drama stirred by former games like Beer Pong and Look Who's Talking.
Midway through the clip, Meg is overheard directing someone to kiss the Islander they'd prefer to pair up with, excluding their current mate.
Adding to the complexity, Friday's episode had viewers puzzled with a new dilemma emerging and two contestants clashing head-on.
Amidst the ongoing turbulent scenes, spurred by recent tasks, Islanders were faced with revelations about themselves based on whispers from the grapevine.
This has left several relationships on shaky ground. Helena candidly confessed to Harry that she'd had enough, especially after his most recent Hideaway escapade involving the arrival of bombshell Yasmin.
Simultaneously, as Conor and Emily conversed, Toni stunned Meg and Dejon by expressing her aversion towards Emily's perpetual optimism, branding her: "I can't stand to listen to her... 'Little Miss Sunshine' all the time."
A baffled Meg couldn't help but ask, "In a good way?" when Toni expressed her annoyance with another contestant, revealing: "I'm getting irritated with her."
Meg expressed her liking for the same contestant, and Dejon concurred. Subsequently, Meg disclosed Toni's sentiments to Emily, cautioning her about the American competitor's grievance towards her.
The tension between Toni and Emily did not simmer down and soon escalated into a confrontation, captivating viewers.
Fans didn't hesitate to voice their opinions on this unexpected clash between the two Islanders.
One individual took to social media to express their bewilderment, posting: "I'm sorry but where did this Emily and Toni beef come from."
Another remarked in astonishment at the suddenness of the dispute: "I genuinely thought the Emily and Toni beef might have been provoked but it was actually out of nowhere."
A third wrote, equally puzzled: "Well that is random Toni".
An additional comment speculated: "I genuinely think maybe Toni is trying to put the hate onto someone else as Yasmin is getting is all."
Elsewhere, a viewer shared their confusion online, asking: "I love Toni but what is with the Emily dislike did I miss something?".
Things came to a head when Emily confronted Toni, seeking clarification about her grievances, only to discover Toni's issue stemmed from Emily's conduct on the evening Toni faced potential elimination from the show.
The discussion ended abruptly as Toni walked away, leaving Emily to label her 'nuts'.
Love Island continues Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
