Fans were left in hysterics as dancer Curtis Pritchard - who is originally from Stoke-on-Trent - showed off his moves
Love Island fans were left in hysterics as contestants took part in the well-known 'Heart Rate Monitor' challenge, with former season standout Curtis Pritchard stealing the show.
Devoted fans of the dating show may recall his initial brush with the art of striptease in 2019 when he sported nothing but purple hot pants and a flamboyant headdress, prompting comparisons to King Julien from DreamWorks's Madagascar film.
The 28-year-old professional dancer, who is originally from Stoke-on-Trent and still has family in Sneyd Green, opted to don the identical ensemble to captivate the villa's female occupants in hopes of clinching the challenge victory.
Curtis threw himself wholeheartedly into the routine, gyrating towards the ladies, twerking unabashedly, and sensually gliding before performing an audacious knee slide on the floor. This daring spectacle left both fellow islanders and viewers watching at home in disbelief, reports the Mirror.
An Instagram user was astonished enough to exclaim: "Did that man just knee slide on wood? ? ?" Those watching the episode were awestruck by what unfolded, many reporting fits of laughter. Social media remarks ranged from "King Julien is back," to accolades like "Curtis and Ekin are genuinely insane."
Comments continued with another viewer declaring: "CURTIS THAT WAS UNHOLY," and yet another fan celebrating: "Omg the reprisal of Samba de Janeiro for Curtis is ICONIC."
When the results came in, revealing that Curtis's enthusiastic dancing had set the pulses racing for most of the women, viewers were quick to comment on his approach. One viewer quipped: "The girls running for their life from Curtis is killing me off."
Another remarked: "The way the girls scattered when Curtis started throwing himself around." A third spectator suggested: "Their heart rates were raised by Curtis because they were all running away pissing themselves," while another added, "My jaw.. has been dropped LOOOL this episode is WILD," and someone else observed: "Curtis just raised everyone's heart out of fear."
Previously likened to an animated lemur, Curtis also endured harsh fat-shaming, which he discussed in a recent interview with The Mirror before his All Stars villa return.
He shared his fitness efforts, saying: "I've been hitting the gym as much as I possibly can," Reflecting on his initial stint, he confessed: "I went into it all guns blazing," not fully aware of the public's perception. This time, however, his strategy has changed.
"I'll keep an open mind," he declared. "The best way to tackle Love Island is to go with the flow and not shut down any opportunities. "This time, I'll be less King Julien and more Magic Mike. Give me Ginuwine's Pony to dance to. I'll be Speedo-body ready."
