Loose Women's Brenda Edwards has opened up about a poignant moment that brought her to tears whilst in a restaurant.

Reflecting on a recent trip to Barbados with her daughter Tanisha, the TV personality shared how a conversation about her late son Jamal led to an overwhelming surge of emotion.

Brenda recounted the tender moment during which she and Tanisha honoured Jamal's memory, who sadly passed away in 2022 at the age of 31.

Speaking to her Loose Women colleague Denise Welch, Brenda described the emotional experience: "I went away on holiday, and I was there with Tanisha. We were at this beautiful restaurant, and I was there, and it was like, there was, something just, we were talking about Jamal, and it just came, a cloud came over me. I was crying for like 15, 20 minutes."

The two took time to reflect on their cherished memories with Jamal before his untimely death in 2022, allowing themselves to be enveloped by their feelings.

Brenda continued: "Tanisha came away from the table. We were both crying together, just reminiscing and thinking of the good things and the nice things. And Jamal would have loved it if he was here, and it was a really, really sombre day after that," as she recounted on the Loose Women podcast.

This touching revelation comes just over three years after Jamal's death, with an inquest determining that the DJ died due to cardiac arrhythmia.

In an interview with the BBC, Brenda spoke about coping with her loss: "I literally take each day as it comes and sometimes each hour. And if I want to cry with his sister, then we sit and cry. If we want to talk about him we talk, we laugh."

She continued: "We've gone through an array of emotions."

The music industry was deeply saddened by Jamal's death, with close friend Ed Sheeran among those paying tribute to the DJ.

Prince Charles also expressed his condolences, writing: "His work in music but also as an ambassador for a new generation, including his work for The Prince's Trust, were an inspiration to so many."

Jamal was not only a DJ but also a music entrepreneur who owned SBTV, a company that launched the careers of some of the UK's biggest artists like Stormzy and Jessie J.

Ed Sheeran has even credited Jamal for playing a significant role in kick-starting his career after featuring on his SBTV channel in 2010.
