A LOOSE Women panelist refuted the suggestion that she may make an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing in a statement yesterday.
While filling in for Kaye Adams, Sunetra Sarker addressed the rumours that one of her co-stars might be strutting her stuff for the BBC competition.
Turning to Janet Street-Porter, 77, Sunetra exclaimed: "Some really exciting news! Janet is joining Strictly.
"Or is she? Tell us the truth."
The journalist did not look amused by all the furore, simply responding: "No."
She added: "I was on my way to hospital this morning to have a painkiller injection in my hip, because I've just been told I have to have a hip replacement."

"And what bubbles up on my phone but Ruth Langsford going, 'I'm so excited! I've just heard you're doing Strictly! I'm so excited, it's made my day!'
"And I just went back, 'Sorry. Not true.'"
The crowd in the ITV studios were left in fits of laughter after hearing how incredulous Janet was that anyone could believe she might be in fit shape for Strictly.
She finished off her rant by joking: "Unless there's a competition called Strictly Arm Dancing!"
