Ruth Langsford had her Loose Women co-stars in hysterics at her confession.
Ruth Langsford has revealed an embarrassing incident which took place in her neighbourhood this weekend.
The Loose Women panellist, 65, appeared on Monday's show still wearing her hair rollers in - for good reason.
Exclaiming "oh no!" as she recalled what happened, leaving her co-stars in hysterics, Ruth explained: "I was in my kitchen on Sunday morning making some soup like I do, but my fringe gets in my way.
"Always in the kitchen I have one of these Velcro rollers in a bowl on the side, so I put one in, did my cooking, and thought, 'Oh I need to take Maggie out for a walk.'"
As the audience and her co-panellists began giggling, Ruth went on: "Well you know what's coming, don't you?"
Ruth revealed she took her dog for a walk through her local neighbourhood, where she knew plenty of people who were stopping to say hello, and even a car beeping as it went past.
But it wasn't just trying to get her attention, as it was also warning her she'd forgotten to take out her hair roller.
"Nobody said a thing, I got back to the house, and as I got to the door - I've got a very shiny, black front door - and as I was putting my key in, I could see my reflection.
"I was like, 'Oh no! Oh no, no, no!'"
Thankfully, both Ruth and the audience could see the lighter side of her mishap, as she shared an image from the incident.
The former This Morning presenter rarely gives insight into her home life after her split from Eamonn Holmes last year.
The pair revealed they were parting ways after 14 years of marriage, with reports at the time stating work commitments had resulted in them drifting in "different directions".
They've since remained tight-lipped about the split, though Eamonn has gone public with his new 42-year-old girlfriend, having been pictured at events together and on a luxury Mediterranean cruise.
Meanwhile, it was claimed that Ruth was adapting her home to life without Eamonn, having removed his stairlift from their Surrey mansion.
It was claimed she made the decision to get rid of his £2,000 equipment before the GB News presenter - who has been struggling with mobility issues for years and suffered recent health setbacks - returned to collect his final belongings.
A source claimed at the time: "Ruth has remained quiet and classy. Even when people bring up what Eamonn has been up to, she stays silent and just smiles. She thinks that is the best way. She has had a lot of support from her friends."
They added to The Daily Mail: "But one thing she would see every day was the stairlift which Eamonn installed. Ruth doesn’t need it.
"She’s super-fit and healthy but she knew Eamonn probably would struggle when he had to go the house to get some bits he needed for the holiday. The bedrooms are upstairs and he needed to get to them.
"It might seem petty but Ruth’s friends think it is absolutely hilarious as they think he has really taken her for a ride.
"You can imagine how furious Eamonn was. He was probably expecting to be able to use the stairlift to get his stuff and quickly get out again and pack for his holiday."
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1.
