Loose Women's Kaye Adams warned the studio not to "mess" with Sue Cleaver after her "honest" story about parenting.

During Wednesday's (23rd July) instalment, Kaye Adams returned to lead the panel as she was joined by Coleen Nolan, Kéllé Bryan and Sue Cleaver in the studio.

As the panel discussed whether 12-year-old children are the toughest age to parent, Sue reminisced as she shared a story about her son, Elliot.

She said: "We are peas in a pod, we are so similar. But, there was one point just before his 16th birthday, and I thought 'Nah, he's not staying around here over the summer holidays', and he'd done something that he knew he shouldn't have done.

"So, I sent him to South Africa for the summer to work in a school."

As the panel looked on in shock and the studio audience jokingly gasped, Sue continued: "No, it sounds awful, but he had the best time ever. He came back a different boy. He really appreciated what he had and liked, and he came back with a completely different view."

Kaye then turned to the audience and joked: "Don't mess with Sue, people! Don't mess with Sue!", to which the actress responded: "He had a great time, it was all organised and it was a volunteering programme and stuff."

Loose Women

Sue joined the Loose Women panel after leaving her role as Eileen Grimshaw in Coronation Street.

Her exit took place this year, as Eileen decided to move to Thailand to live with her son Jason, leaving behind her other son Todd and former partner, George Shuttleworth.

Speaking about her departure, Sue said in a statement at the start of the year: "I’ve had 25 privileged years of working on Coronation Street.

"The door is still firmly open, but as I reached my 60th year I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly."

During a recent instalment of Loose Women following her departure, Sue shared: "I've had the best time, I've worked with some incredible people there. Great storylines and it is like a family.

"So, yeah. I mean, who knows? If Todd gets married or whatever and they want mum to be brought back I'll come back".

Loose Women airs on weekdays from 12:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
