Loose Women star Jane Moore opened up about her friendship with Ozzy Osbourne, and shared she thought his death was an "online hoax".

After being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease back in 2019, it was a year later that the Black Sabbath star revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and he paused touring in 2023 after extensive spinal surgery.

Earlier this month, he took to the stage with his band mates at Villa Park in Birmingham. Ozzy told thousands of heavy metal enthusiasts at Villa Park, Birmingham – a stone’s throw from where Black Sabbath was formed in 1968 – that it was "so good to be on this stage" as he performed his last set from a large black throne.

Sadly, his death was confirmed by his family in a statement that read: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."

During Wednesday's (23rd July) instalment of Loose Women, the panel called journalist Jane Moore who knew Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon Osbourne.

She shared: "I'm on holiday out in France, and I first got a call, sort of like mid-afternoon, and I thought, to be honest I didn't believe it. Ozzy's been subjected to many online hoaxes about his death over the years, and so I just thought it was another one.

"Because, I only saw him just over two weeks ago, when he did his farewell concert with Black Sabbath in Villa Park in Birmingham - which is literally just a couple minutes from his house where he grew up in Aston."

Jane continued: "The concert was a huge success. I went and Sharon took me to see him in his dressing room just before he went on stage, and he was, yeah, he was really nervous because it's his home town and his home crowd.

"But, he was also really excited about doing it... You know, he was a legend".

Reflecting on how he was when she last saw him, Jane admitted: "It's just incredibly sad, because although he was physically quite weak in terms of mobility, mentally he was still there.

"The humour, we've always known that was his sort of signature characteristic, was very much still there."

Loose Women airs on weekdays from 12:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
