Bravo TV star Kim Zolciak is finally coming clean about the money she borrowed from her daughters, Ariana and Brielle Biermann. “Actually, the rug was pulled out from the Zolciaks,” she said on the July 31 episode of “Watch What Happens Live.” “… Ariana’s money was spent on bills, to be honest.”
Zolciak, a “RHOA” alum who went on to star in her own reality series “Don’t Be Tardy,” spoke about the money issue during the “Truth Bomb” segment of the show. There seemed to be a bit of tension in the room, as the camera cut to Ariana Biermann in the audience looking uncomfortable.
“I was left, you know, holding the bag for the family…,” Zolciak explained during the segment. When asked by host Andy Cohen if she also borrowed money from her daughter Brielle, Zolciak paused before saying, “Brielle paid an electric bill here and there …”
Why Zolciak Seemed Hesitant
At one point during the interview Zolciak seemed to hesitate, then said, “… I have to be so careful, guys.” Zolciak and Kroy Biermann are still in the middle of their divorce, so it seemed that the topic of finances was a touchy one.
But Zolciak did try to explain why she used her daughters’ money, summing it up by saying, “I was left with nothing, so I had to figure it out. Fast.”
Cohen also asked Zolciak whether she planned on reimbursing Ariana and Brielle for their contributions, and the former “RHOA” star said yes. “… the money I borrowed from Ariana, I paid her back … I’m saying for the bills and stuff,” Zolciak said as Ariana looked less than thrilled in the audience.
Zolciak continued, “And as far as what she’s made and all that … I don’t have the spreadsheets, but she will be [reimbursed].”
Why Zolciak Was in the Hot Seat
Cohen’s line of questioning came as a result of Ariana recently talking about her mother having taken money from her. The “Next Gen NYC” star revealed on Gia Giudice’s podcast “Casual Chaos,” that Zolciak once bought Ariana’s Christmas presents with Ariana’s own money.
Ariana appeared on “WWHL” on June 29 and answered questions regarding her mom’s financial situation. “The only time my mom asks me for money is if it’s regarding the bills or it’s something that she needs for the kids, and then she pays me back when she can,” she said.
At the time, there seemed to be no bad blood. “My mom, no matter what, will be my best friend forever,” Ariana shared.
