Killer look! How Claudia Winkleman uses TV's The Traitors to give Scottish designers a lift liennhi

Her role on Strictly Come Dancing has made her a fashion icon as she dons one glittering dress or outfit after another.

Now, Claudia Winkleman is garnering attention for Scots clothing firms as she uses her role on smash hit show The Traitors to showcase their work.

Take, for instance, her choice of an oversized jumper from fashion firm Barrie - one of the oldest cashmere knitting manufacturers in Scotland.

The star was pictured wearing the £1,410 jumper, which is adorned with ‘abstract roses’, in a promo shot for the show as she sat on a dark green leather chair.

The company describes the piece saying: ‘These roses, symbol of the United Kingdom, are knitted with contrasting 3D stitches and floating stitches for an embroidered effect in bold colours that stand out against the cashmere.’

Founded in Hawick, in the Borders in 1903, the manufacturer was acquired by French fashion house Chanel in 2012.

Two years later, its own label was launched to showcase its heritage and craftsmanship.

Winkleman, 52, has also worn another roundneck cashmere jumper by Barrie.

Currently priced at £450, this second long-sleeved item featured a ‘ladder day detail’ on its sleeves, and is described by the company as ‘a wardrobe essential, offering endless styling possibilities’.

For anyone looking to avoid the chill, Winkleman donned another product - cashmere Donegal wristwarmers from Scots firm Brora.

Priced at £79, they feature colourful flecks and are said to ‘ add a dash of unique charm to any look’.

The Traitors host has also been pictured wearing another Brora product - a £369 cashmere luxe knit polo neck jumper.

Another item that could benefit from Winkleman’s exposure of it is a grey cashmere jumpere made by English brand Connolly.

Although made south of the border, the material for the £1,500 piece was milled and knitted in Scotland.

And, following in the footsteps of fellow celebrities such as Ewan McGreggor and Natalie Portman, Winkleman has also sported clothes from Scots firm Johnston’s of Elgin.

The particular piece she opted for was a £995 cashmere and wool gun club ‘shacket,’ which is a shirt/jacket.

Winkleman’s wardrobe has been masterminded by her long-time stylist Sinead McKeefry, with fashion columnists saying the aesthetic befits the show’s Scottish castle setting.

The psychological reality show, filmed at Ardross Castle in Rossshire, is back on TV screens at the moment.

The back-stabbing game of wits will see the Traitors attempt to secretly eliminate one of the Faithfuls every night, while the players try to deduce who is being duplicitous.
