Loose Women panellist Katie Piper has shared an emotive post to Instagram, saying "this is beyond anything even I can handle." Hitting back at online trolls, Katie shared some of the hate she had received recently and said: "this behaviour should always be called out."

Katie, who was attacked by acid by her ex-boyfriend and an accomplice in 2008 and has been raising awareness ever since including her Channel 4 documentary Katie: My Beautiful Face and her charity the Katie Piper Foundation, received some nasty comments asking where her nose was. She hit back at the troll saying: "being pulled into my face by thick scar tissue. It's incredibly painful" before the troll replied telling Katie to take her own life.

Sharing the comments on Instagram Katie said: "After completing my run this morning, feeling already depleted because of my bad time, I opened my phone to this. I can handle most things, but sometimes it adds to an already heavy load you are carrying...

"I wouldn't usually call this out so personally, but this is beyond anything even I can handle. This behaviour should always be called out, people need to do better." For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.

Many of Katie's celebrity pals commented with messages of support on the post. Laura Whitmore said: "Bloody hell I'm sorry you have to see this Katie. People are unwell and this is why social media needs to be monitored."

Vicky Pattison said: "You are beautiful and brave. That person's comment says more about them than it ever could about you." Stacey Dooley said: "The pits. You are legit 10/10 in every sense" followed by a red love heart emoji.
