As two original cast members on The Real Housewives of Potomac, Gizelle Bryant and Karen Huger have gone through a lot of ups and downs in their friendship on screen.
For the most part, Gizelle and the Grand Dame haven't been able to see eye to eye, but Karen just teased that things will be changing between them on Season 9 (which premieres on October 6 at 8/7c).
"I'm pleased to say we're in an OK spot this year," Karen revealed about her relationship with Gizelle to E! News. "We are the best of frenemies in any [Housewives] franchise because we're real."
Though Karen and Gizelle are in a good place now, the Potomac resident had to throw a bit of fun shade her castmate's way.
"She was supportive initially. Let's see how she does the rest of the season. I'm rooting for her, because it's hard for Gizelle to be supportive," Karen joked. "She's messy and I love that about her. I've known that before the show, though. I knew that before we became Housewives."
During a special appearance at the latest Watch Party by Bravo on October 1, Karen further opened up about the evolution of her relationship with the GnA co-founder.
"We're moving forward in a very interesting way," Karen teased.
Gizelle Bryant shows support to Karen Huger on Season 9 of RHOP
In a preview for the October 6 premiere, which you can check out at the top of this post, Gizelle is looking to give some support to Karen after her driving incident.
"Karen and I have been friends for a long time," Gizelle says in an interview on the episode about how she reacted to Karen's incident. "I care about her. I love her. I’m going to be there for her for whatever she needs."
As Gizelle jokes in a phone call to castmate Ashley Darby, "I can't have nothing happen to Karen —who am I gonna yell at?"
Gizelle and Karen then head to a diner to discuss what happened.
"I want to make sure that you're happy, because I think we need to have, like, a real conversation," Gizelle tells Karen from across the table. "Let me start off by saying once I saw that you were in an accident, I couldn't imagine something really happening to you. And it just shook me."
Karen herself reflected on what happened in her own confessional.
"While I cannot talk about things in detail since the case has not been adjudicated, I will say this: The injuries, thank God, are not life-threatening. It's my ribs and ankle and that's it. Thank God," she said. "I know the value of life more now than ever."
