Last week, Todd Chrisley received a pardon from the POTUS, and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss joined the chorus of supporters celebrating their legal win. Both Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were let off the hook for their tax evasion, bank fraud, and conspiracy charges.
The pardons arrived after months of practically begging the Trump administration for help. According to Kandi, she’s “happy” that the couple avoided serving their prison time, and she has zero time for anyone questioning that support.
Kandi Burruss supports Todd and Julie Chrisley after prison release
Kandi’s pro-Chrisley stance came to the forefront after she commented on Chase Chrisley’s Instagram post. After having recently landed in jail himself, he took to Instagram to celebrate his parents’ release from prison. Kandi shared words of support underneath the post.

“Congratulations!!!!” Kandi replied on Instagram. “I’m so happy for yall!!!!”
Immediately, Kandi started catching flak for supporting the controversial pardons. Throwing support towards convicted criminals who conspired to defraud the United States doesn’t necessarily align with her brand. However, Kandi wrote on Twitter/X that she’s “cool” with the Chrisleys and doesn’t see a problem with celebrating their prison release.
“What’s the problem?” Kandi asked her followers. “Todd & I were cool before he ever had this legal issue. I’m happy that him & Julie are out of jail. What y’all so pressed for? Me being happy for them has nothing to do with my political beliefs.”
Despite Kandi’s explanation, the replies to her post remained overwhelmingly negative. Meanwhile, Todd is enjoying his newfound freedom. His daughter said he’s looking “jacked’ as ever, and he maintains that he didn’t deserve to go to prison in the first place.
