Last year, Kamie Crawford announced she was leaving MTV’s Catfish after six years. However, it didn’t take long before her phone started ringing for another opportunity. During a recent interview, she revealed that both she and her mother were approached to join The Real Housewives of Potomac.
RHOP could have had Kamie Crawford and her mom on the cast
Kamie made the surprising reveal about RHOP during an episode of the Awf The Record podcast. The former MTV host grew up in Potomac, and she said that her mother had been approached a handful of times to join the show over the years.
“My mom has been asked several times. She has said no every single time,” Kamie claimed.
Kamie’s mother is Carla Crawford. She’s the former executive director of the Miss DC USA pageant. Although that background has Real Housewives star written all over it, Kamie said her mom just wasn’t interested.
“My mom was like, ‘I will go to jail, and I’m not doing that,'” Kamie joked.
When her mom kept declining the offer to join the RHOP cast, Kamie said the producers pitched the idea of them both coming on the show together. Still, the answer stayed the same. This Potomac family felt zero interest in becoming Bravolebrities. According to Kamie, people from Potomac just don’t get down like that.
“It’s so interesting because like, this is the area I grew up in,” she began. “Half of these women don’t live there. They’re not from there.”
Kamie continued, “Women who are from Potomac genuinely are not doing Housewives. They’re just not because it’s just not that kind of a place. It’s very quiet.”
