Julie Chen Moonves Teases That Big Brother Has Resulted in 'More Marriages Than The Bachelor' After 25 Years on Air tram

Julie Chen Moonves is proud of all the relationships that have blossomed on Big Brother.

Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE in honor of the show's 25th anniversary, Chen Moonves, who has hosted Big Brother since it premiered on July 5, 2000, bragged about the show's track record for successful romances.

"We've had more marriages than The Bachelor — and we are not a dating show," the television host said with a laugh. "Just warms my heart to see it."

While her claim may be a little hyperbolic, at least six Big Brother couples who met on the show are currently married and have families.

Season 11 winner Jordan Lloyd met future husband Jeff Schroeder on the show, and they're now married with two children.

Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas met and fell in love the next season. Fast-forward to today, and they are married with two children. Reilly would also go on to win season 13, which saw her compete with Villegas as well as Lloyd and Schroeder.

Speaking of season 13, that summer saw returning player Daniele Donato fall in love with Dominic Briones, with whom she is now married and shares two children.

The love story of season 18 winner Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo is one for the history books, as she voted to evict him three times, and he ultimately didn't vote for her to win the game. That didn't stop them from finding their happily ever after, as they're now married and have one child together.

Other successful relationships include Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf, who met on season 19 and are now married with their fifth child on the way, and Bayleigh Dayton and Christopher "Swaggy C" Williams, who met on season 20 and are now married with two children.

As for Bachelor Nation, there are currently 29 couples who are still together after appearing on the popular ABC franchise.

Chen Moonves said these bonds are sometimes the result of players learning to "expect the unexpected," her iconic mantra.

"I love seeing the transformation of people who go into the house thinking they're there just to be a real villain and win at all costs, and then lose the game but meet their future soulmate," she said. "Big Brother seems to be a silly game, but it's so much more."

"These marriages, they last," Chen Moonves added. "Because when you're in the Big Brother house, you're in a pressure cooker with someone where there's no escape, and it's 24/7. You see all sides of them. You know what you're signing up for."

Big Brother season 27 airs Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays on CBS. In addition to regular episodes, Big Brother: Unlocked will also air this season every other week beginning Friday, July 25.
