Bachelor Nation fans got to know Joey Graziadei on Season 28 of “The Bachelor,” where he fell in love and got engaged to fiancée Kelsey Anderson.
After his time on the show, he competed on Season 33 of “Dancing with the Stars” and made history as the first Bachelor ever to win the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
Since then, the two have been enjoying their lives together and keeping fans updated with their adventures online, often sharing on their social media accounts.
However, amid all the incredible opportunities, some challenges have also arisen.
Joey recently opened up on “The Squeeze Podcast” about struggling with impostor syndrome.
He shared, “I know I still struggle with it immensely and it’s in the weirdest situations. When you walk into a room, sometimes you feel like you shouldn’t even be in that room, but you know you should at the same time. And it’s just all those different things.”
Joey continued and revealed that he first felt impostor syndrome after being on “The Bachelor.”
He said, “There’s this buzz of everything online and I’m watching this season come about and I’m literally sitting and waiting for all this to come out. But I was like, ‘Why is this so big? Why is all of this going on right now when I was just really on the show trying to find my person?’ And all of that, I tried to explain it. I tried to talk a lot with my brother-in-law and sister, and they were great. And it was my brother-in-law that literally pulled it up on his phone and said, ‘Dude, you have this.’ And he just explained what impostor syndrome was and it just fit.”
The Bachelor Nation star also admitted that he felt it when competing on “Dancing with the Stars” and shared how he’s currently trying to deal with his imposter syndrome.
“It’s exactly feeling like you’re in a place you shouldn’t be and accepting it but finding a way to deal with it,” he said. “I felt it on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ when there were actual stars in the room and I’m like, ‘Why is this dude from “The Bachelor” on this show right now? And why are people actually excited to see him dance?’”
He shared, “Like, it didn’t make sense and I’m finding my own version of accepting it and trying to gain confidence. And it’s a work in progress. I have not figured it out. But I’ve tried to give myself a little more grace and trying to understand how to navigate it is part of the process too.”
