Joan Vassos Reveals What She’s Learned from ‘Going on 24 First Dates in 24 Hours’ tram

Sharing words of wisdom.

Bachelor Nation watched Joan Vassos fall in love and get engaged to Chock Chapple on the very first season of “The Golden Bachelorette.”

During her season, Joan has been very open about her previous relationship, how she views dating, and what she’s learned from her experience as the Golden Bachelorette.

Now, she’s sharing more about what she’s learned about dating from “going on 24 first dates in 24 hours” on her first night as the Golden Bachelorette.

In a new video posted online, Joan revealed, “The first thing [I learned] is you’ll never regret putting yourself out there. You’ll only regret wondering what would have happened if you had. So get out there!”

Joan then continued and shared more things that she learned from going on 24 first dates in one night.

She said, “The second thing that I learned is that not every conversation is 50/50 and that’s okay. Sometimes you need to be the listener and sometimes you’re gonna need to be the conversationalist. So be prepared to be either person.”

The third thing Joan learned is related to self-reflection and embracing what you see.
“Every date is a mirror,” she stated. “Sometimes the person across from you is going to show you what you want to see. Sometimes they’re gonna show you what you don’t want to see. But both are worth celebrating.”

Joan also gave some reassurance that first dates are always awkward no matter what age you are.

“It doesn’t matter how old you are, first dates are always nerve-wracking,” she expressed, “They are always awkward in the beginning. Take the leap of faith, put yourself out there anyway. And this is true at any age.”

Joan then shared her final thoughts on what she learned from her first night as the Golden Bachelorette and gave a note of encouragement to viewers.

She said, “The best love story starts with loving yourself. No matter how many first dates you go on, always remember, sometimes rejection is just redirection. Don’t dwell on what didn’t work, embrace what’s waiting for you next. Good luck on your first date.”
