Jedward

Jedward have revealed all on their Celebrity Big Brother payday from over a decade ago.

The dynamic duo, who shot to fame on The X Factor in 2009, graced the eighth series of the reality TV show in 2011, joining Kerry Katona, Amy Childs and series winner Paddy Doherty.

Making their entrance on the first night, the Grimes twins were considered as one entity throughout their stay and ultimately clinched third place.

On a recent stint on the Not My Bagg podcast, John and Edward opened up to host Joe Baggs about the hefty sum they pocketed for their appearance.

The pop pair revealed: "It's mental to think we're the highest paid housemates ever in CBB history.", reports OK!.

"They gave us a £1million to sit and just be jepic in 2011. That's our highest pay cheque to date where we were like shocked."

They also touched on the cut taken by their former mentor Louis Walsh: "Obviously Louis [Walsh] got his percentage so that's not good. I think I'm A Celeb was 400 or 300 and something which is mental like you can buy a house with that."

Louis Walsh, who guided Jedward during their 2009 X Factor journey, entered the Celebrity Big Brother house last year and reportedly bagged nearly £850,000.

While inside Britain's most notorious residence, Louis didn't hold back his thoughts on the twins, branding them "vile" in a conversation with Colson Smith.

When the Coronation Street star quizzed him about Jedward, the music industry veteran responded: "They were vile... I done five million quid with them."

He emphatically added, "I swear on my mother's life. They were vile, they were novelty, they were great for the show."

Jedward didn't take Louis' comments lightly, responding to his remarks with a series of social media posts that branded him as "cold hearted".

The duo also shared a video featuring them in a hot tub alongside fellow Celebrity Big Brother (CBB) alumnus Gemma Collins. In the clip, Collins defends the pair, stating: "Louis, don't be slagging off my boys. They're not vile or they wouldn't be in my hot tub."

The twins made a comeback to the CBB house in 2017 for the Celebrity Big Brother: All-Stars vs New Stars edition, where they secured second place, losing out to Loose Women's Coleen Nolan.
