Janette Manrara has admitted she's 'sad' to fans as she offered them an update on her return to the stage after being forced to take time off.

The presenter and dancer only recently confirmed there was a month left of her starring in the touring musical, Chicago. It was back in March that Janette made her stage debut in the show's iconic role of Roxie Hart.

She went on to perform the role in venues up and down the country before taking a break to perform in her own show alongside husband Aljaz Skorjenc.

She then returned to the role of Roxie in June. But during her recent visit to Blackpool with the show, Janette suffered a bout of ill health that forced her to miss a few shows. She went on to make a return to the stage but then found herself out of the show once again over the weekend.

Taking to Instagram, the former Strictly Come Dancing pro confirmed she'd had to undergo emergency dental surgery and shared pictures with one of her cheeks double its normal size.

It was then last Saturday (August 2), that Janette shared her update. Sharing a picture she'd captured of her mother and her daughter, Lyra Rose, sitting together on a bench in the countryside, she said: "Nothing like some food for the soul. Grandma and Lyra Rose.

"Slowly recovering but some fresh air w/ my mom and Lyra was exactly the medicine I needed. Thank you for all the get well wishes."

Now, Janette has shared a fresh update. Taking to Instagram on Thursday (August 7), she shared a quote from her book, Tiny Dancer, Big World, which read: "When life throws you lemons, switch it up and grab a banana."

Alongside a picture of the quote in her book, the mum-of-one wrote: "#ThoughtfulThursdays Quote from my book #TinyDancerBIGworld and really feeling it.

"Sad to not be on stage performing, but healing well and enjoying the much needed time at home w/ Lyra and my mom. Not long until I’m back…."

And fans quickly responded. ilovejanettex said: "Glad ur feeling better roxie will be back and better than ever very soon. The best quote from the book always!" @looeaze commented: "Glad you are feeling better" @..allthingskps_ added: "Perfectly said."
