The famous boxer and internet personality wants to expand his brand to football
Jake Paul had a very successful 2024 in part due to his record breaking match against boxing legend Mike Tyson, which became Netflix's most-streamed sporting event ever, with more than 108 million viewers globally.
The internet personality did get some criticism for fighting against a 58-year old. Paul has taken plenty of time to light into Saul "Canelo" Alvarez for "ducking him", as well as teasing a bout against his brother, Logan Paul, which ended up being a promotion for a reality show.
The Cleveland, Ohio native has done little to nothing to win over skeptics about his boxing skills and ability, as he has gone full heel, which doesn't help with the fact that his background is that of a social media entertainer who's quick to make some bucks and who's big on promoting his brand.
Jake Paul runs the 40-yard dash
The boxer posted a video of a workout session in a soccer field along his brother and a couple of friends. In the video we can see Jake Paul having a good start to the challenge and giving his all in the latter part of the run. He recorded a 4.74, although he mentions the fact that he wanted to record a 4.6.
"NFL speed, baby. Next step is get signed." said the 28 years-old media sensation. He has appeared as a guest presenter on Monday Night Football to promote products, but his broadcast was met with mixed reactions from fans and commentators.
Some social media users even mentioned the fact that Paul's appearance could mean that he was interested in playing in the NFL. He has shown interest in college footbal, particularly the current national champions Ohio State Buckeyes, but that's pretty much about it.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. mocks Jake Paul
The legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently mocked Jake Paul during an interview on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon", where "Money" claimed that the fight between Tyson and Paul was not serious and it only got views because it was free on Netflix.
