ITV The Chase viewers confused after player shuts down Bradley Walsh trucc

The Chase fans were left divided after a contestant named Su corrected host Bradley Walsh over his comment about curry - but some pointed out that she did have a point

Viewers of The Chase were left baffled after a contestant named Su gave host Bradley Walsh an impromptu lesson in cuisine. On the episode aired on Friday, January 17, Bradley returned with new contestants aiming to outsmart chaser Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha for a cash prize.

Despite a shaky start, Josh, Mike, and Joanne sailed into the final round. However, it was the fourth contestant, Su, who sparked a stir among the audience.

Before her turn, Su shared her passion for cooking, particularly South Asian dishes, with Bradley. In a conversation about curries, Su corrected Bradley's perspective, insisting that she doesn't view curry as "Indian food".

Bradley's mention of a "fantastic Indian restaurant in Theydon Bois," was met with a disapproving shake of the head from Su, who declared: "No, I don't consider curry as an Indian food."

This exchange left viewers perplexed, prompting them to share their thoughts on social media. One viewer tweeted: "Brad schooled on curry now.", reports the Express.

Another chimed in with: "'That's NOT Indian! That's BENGALI! ' Su totally laying down the culinary law to Brad, there. Theydon Bois or no Theydon Bois."

A third person pondered online: "What is an Indian cuisine then? Curry must be one of the many dishes?".

Another viewer seemed to agree with Su, pointing out: "Oddly, curry ('kari') is a South Indian, Tamil, word meaning sauce."

Su's divisive remark seemed to catch chaser Paul off guard, prompting him to address it. Su's journey on the game show came to an abrupt end when the chaser caught up with her in the second round, knocking her out of the final.

Home audiences appeared indifferent to Su's exit, which came after she made provocative remarks leading to a stir on social media. One viewer said, "Su failed to curry favour with Bradley, or Paul - bye! .." while another advised, "Note to Su, maybe next time refrain from trying to school someone when also insulting someone else at the same time!".
