ITV Love Island's Shakira Reveals She Hasn't Seen Her Parents Since Leaving the Villa trucc

Love Island 2025 finalists Shakira and Toni appeared on ITV's Loose Women on Wednesday to chat about their time on the show

It's been nearly a fortnight since Love Island 2025 drew to a close, but runner-up Shakira Khan has revealed she's still yet to reunite with some of her relatives.

The 22-year-old, who secured second place on the ITV2 reality programme, joined co-star Toni Laites on ITV's Loose Women on Thursday (August 14) to chat about their experiences in the famous villa. Denise Welch asked whether Shakira and partner Harry Cooksley had been introduced to each other's families, with the reality star confessing they've yet to reach that significant step.

"Not yet," she confessed. "My mum's been cruising around the Mediterranean, I've not even been home to see my dad. I haven't seen my dad in 10 weeks!"

Shakira offered additional details about her and Harry's romance off screen, explaining they are progressing at their own speed rather than mimicking other couples' approaches.

"I think coming out of the villa, everyone is all exclusive and all loved-up," she said. "I think it's important for us to just build back at our own pace.

"Everyone's been together from the start [but] we've had a very unique experience."

Harry, 30, was amongst the audience cheering on Shakira, with the Loose Women hosts quickly interrogating him about his behaviour during his Love Island stint.

When Kaye Adams questioned whether he had been "the bad guy" at any stage in the villa, Harry acknowledged he was the "villain" before reconciling with Shakira near the series conclusion.

"I want to be that person and I think that I am deep down, I just didn't want to sit in the corner for eight weeks and waste my time," he said. "I wanted to make the most of it, and it's all worked out in the end."

In another part of the interview, Toni confessed she'd previously "chased trouble" and "toxic" people before finding love with Cach, her Love Island winning partner.

"I think normally in my day-to-day life, I wouldn't go for the good guy," Toni said. "I think all of us women chase some sort of trouble, but he's everything I could ever ask for and more."

She praised Cach for "really making" her Love Island journey, expressing it felt "so good" to be his first choice after a fair share of drama with ex Harrison Solomon on the show.

Loose Women airs at 12.30pm on ITV1 on weekdays
