ITV Loose Women's Coleen Nolan details near-miss car accident with son ngocc

Loose Women's Coleen Nolan revealed she was almost in a car accident on Monday. The revelation happened as the ITV panel were discussing calls for tougher rules to be imposed on new drivers.

Host Christine Lampard said: "It's all down to experience driving, isn't it? Let's face it, the more you do it the better you get when you first pass your test and you get into a car, it's a lethal weapon in the wrong hands."

Coleen added: "It is down to the driver I guess, we were nearly in an accident on Monday, coming back from our holiday. There was a lorry in front of us.

"Shane was driving, six of us in a people carrier, out of nowhere - we were all chatting away and it was all lovely, out of nowhere, I don't know what happened in front of this lorry but this car appeared and it spun right across in front of us and hit the central barrier."

Praising her son, Coleen told the panel Shane remained calm while the whole incident unfolded. She added: "He managed to swerve the car, while keeping an eye on this car and he stopped literally about three inches from this lorry, from going into the back of it. It was a split second, that wasn't him driving erratically, I don't know what happened."

The ITV star revealed she thinks it's a shame to penalise all young drivers with the same stereotype of being reckless.

Coleen continued: "There are some great drivers out there and young drivers and some terrible older ones."
