‘It’s the weirdest thing’ – Jake Paul fight with Alex Pereira hits snag as Dana White delivers defiant response trucc

Dana White has shut down the idea of Jake Paul facing Alex Pereira.

'The Problem Child' called out Pereira after his sixth-round stoppage win over Mike Perry last month.

Paul had hoped to land a boxing bout with the two-weight UFC champion following his November 15 clash with Mike Tyson.

For the fight to take place it would require approval from the UFC, just like when Conor McGregor was allowed to face Floyd Mayweather in the squared circle in 2017.

However, the UFC president has made it clear that MMA's premier promotion has no interest in staging Pereira vs Paul while the Brazilian star is still under contract with them.

“The media eats all his b****** and they actually print it - it's the weirdest thing ever,” White told TNT Sports when asked if he would be open to making the fight.

“Not only did I not tell Perry if he wanted it in the UFC, I've not even talked to Perry in a long time.

"And I didn't even know Jake Paul was fighting. I was on vacation in Italy and I had no idea. There were all these stories written it's ridiculous.

“I stopped paying attention to Jake Paul when he lost to [Tommy] Fury. When he fought someone that was his age and actually boxed, he lost.

"I'm not s****** on the kid; I don't even think about him anymore, it doesn't even cross my mind.

“I've no beef with him: 'They're trying to get me assassinated!' Nobody's trying to get you assassinated.

“I respect Perry, he’s smaller and older [than Paul]. It's the same blueprint.

With the Pereira fight off the table, all of Paul's focus will now be on his upcoming clash with Tyson.

The pair are set to square off in November after their original July 20 fight date was postponed.

Organisers pushed the fight back by four months after Tyson was deemed medically unfit to compete this summer following an ulcer flare-up on a flight to Los Angeles.

Despite the delay, Tyson remains unfazed, saying: "While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight.

"Jake Paul is getting knocked out."
