There is no doubt about it that Rosanna Davison is a devoted mum to her three children Sophia, five and twins Hugo and Oscar, three, but even she feels ‘mum guilt’ sometimes.
The model, who turned 40 last April, opened up about her stint on Dancing with the Stars last year, and how it affected her children in a negative way.
Rosanna appeared in the dance competition for eight weeks before she was voted out, and the mum-of-three admitted that her ending on the show came at the right time.
In an interview with the Irish Independent, the model confessed: ‘“I was ready. I was really struggling emotionally. I’m usually quite solid, but I was in tears in rehearsals. The Thursday before that last show we did, I was bursting into tears, saying ‘Stephen [Vincent, her dance partner], I can’t do this anymore, I’m too tired’.
She continued: ‘I was finding as well that the boys were acting up in school. The teachers were starting to say to me they’re biting and hitting people, and it was out of character for them. I think it was their cry for help.’
‘”Where are you at the weekends, mummy?” I had this overwhelming guilt then that I wasn’t there for them, and how would that impact them in the future?’
And although Rosanna felt a huge ‘comedown’ after leaving the show, she explained that at the end of the day it is just a TV programme made for the public’s Sunday night entertainment, adding: ‘It doesn’t have to consume you.’
The 40-year-old also felt that she had gotten everything she needed from the show, including her self of sense back- the most important thing of all!
Rosanna explained: ‘”God, you can’t do everything, but you can do anything you put your mind to.” It gave me renewed confidence in myself.’
