The ITV programme were marking VE Day when the news emerged
A Loose Women star was left 'amazed' after the show was halted for a piece of stunning 'breaking news'.
It was a busy afternoon on the ITV panel show as Coleen Nolan, Dame Kelly Holmes, Nadia Sawalha and Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver fronted the panel.
With the studio draped in Union Jack bunting, the majority of the episode covered VE Day, with Thursday (May 8) marking 80 years since the end of the second World War in Europe.
During their conversation, Coleen stopped the programme in its tracks with a cryptic message to Kelly.
“But some breaking news now and huge congratulations to you Kelly,” Coleen said.
Former athlete Kelly appeared visibly confused at what Coleen was referring to, asking ‘what is this’.
Coleen replied: "You have been named as one of the most empowering women in the last 25 years."
Adding that Kelly had made the top five, the audience erupted into a round of applause to congratulate her on the major achievement.
“That's amazing. How did I not know this,” a stunned Kelly said.
Kelly placed fifth in the list, with musician Tina Turner, cancer awareness advocate Dame Deborah James, burns survivor Katie Piper and Michelle Obama placed ahead of her.
“Thousands votes and you are number five, along with Michelle Obama who came in first place and Tina Turner who beat you to fourth place,” Coleen said.
Unsure how to process the news, Kelly admitted that she’s ‘really really chuffed’ by Coleen’s announcement.
The episode also featured a performance of Vera Lynn's wartime song We'll Meet Again Emotions from Britain's Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas.
Asked by Sue who she is backing to win the current series, Sydnie said: “Normally, I always back the singers because I know how frightening it is up there but there is a little boy who plays a guitar and he plays it like his life depends on it…
“I understand him because that's how I feel when I sing, so he just breaks my heart."
