Dan Edgar’s exes Ella Rae-Wise and Angel Swift could be heading for an on-screen face-off
After entering the Love Island villa, it soon emerged that series 12 bombshell Angelique ‘Angel’ Swift’s dating history includes TOWIE bad boy Dan Edgar.
And despite their casual relationship fizzling out just weeks before her stint on the show, insiders tell Closer that Dan is now hoping the pair will be able to reunite – as he plans to get her on TOWIE. But it could spark major problems with his ex Ella Rae Wise.
‘It was pretty much a “one and done” between Dan and Angel, but a lot of fun was had between the pair after his break-up with Ella and her stint on Celebrity Big Brother,’ our insider says. ‘He saw it as a sort of “just deserts” for Ella after the way she ended things with him before she went on CBB in the hope of a potential fling between herself and Chris Hughes, which obviously didn’t work out for her.
‘However, Dan is apparently already thinking ahead and thinking about getting Angel to join TOWIE once she leaves the villa. This is guaranteed to cause some catfights between Ella and Angel. Angel is not the sort to care about that though and will own it – she’s very confident and describes herself as a 20 out of 10.’
Prior to his relationship with Ella, Dan, 35 – who joined TOWIE in 2015 – was in a six-year relationship with Amber Turner. Their romance ended in 2023 as a result of Dan’s failure to commit, and just months later he was rumoured to be hooking up with Ella, 25.
Their relationship was eventually confirmed in early 2024 and played out on TOWIE, but after an on/off romance, the pair eventually split for good in April 2025 just days before Ella entered the CBB house.
As Closer reported earlier this month, Dan – who also previously dated Kate Ferdinand – has since been linked to his former co-star Chloe Lewis, after they reconnected at Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet’s Majorcan wedding.
For her part, Ella has remained single since her split from Dan, saying recently, ‘The DMs don’t stop, but I don’t really want to open them! It’s hard to know people’s true intentions when you’re in the public eye. I need someone genuine, especially with what I do.’
Now, Angel, 26 – who has been coupled up with Ty Isherwood in the villa – could be set to follow in the footsteps of Islanders like Olivia Attwood and Elma Pazar because Dan knows that it’ll make for great TV if she and Ella have the opportunity to meet.
Our source adds, ‘As for Dan and Angel moving forward, who knows. It depends how she gets on during her time in Love Island and if she falls for anyone in the villa.’
