Huge blow for Strictly’s Toyah Wilcox ahead of first eviction as expert reveals ‘real problem’ with star liennhi

A DANCE expert explains why Toyah Wilcox is predicted to be the first contestant eliminated ahead of the second live show.

Toyah Wilcox, 66, danced a Tango alongside her pro partner Neil Jones, 42, but it fell flat with the judging panel.

The star was savaged by the experts as they criticised her for the poor routine and her many mishaps.

Their comments soon translated into scores as Toyah managed to bag an impeccably low score of just 12.

Both Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas scored Toyah a 2 out of 10 while Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke opted to pass a score of 4.

It left them at the bottom of the leader board by some margin as Shirley and Craig unusually agreed when it came to their critique of the singer's routine.

One of their main criticisms was that Toyah found herself being dragged across the dancefloor by Neil.

Craig said to the singer: "You were leaping around like a Springbok, darling. This is like a prowling dance.

"You should be in your knees, you know, and I felt like you were being lifted. You went up on the wrong foot a couple of times as well. We lost timing. We lost connection."

Shirley went on to add: "I actually think it does matter, and I think what Craig said is absolutely right, so please hold her hand while I deliver this message.

"You have the most competitive spirit. I want to say that first of all, and I think that you came out here and you wanted to give it your all, and you did your best.

"Unfortunately, less is more, and poor Neil looked like he was going for a walk in park with you. I've danced with Neil, and he's beautiful to dance with, so we need listening skill.

"We need to calm it a little bit."

Now, professional dance educator and researcher, Dr Jill Rose Jacobs, has told Heart Bingo who she believes Toyah will be the first contestant to be eliminated from the competition.

She suggested that Toyah was unable to perform her choreography to a high enough standard to stay in the running.

“There’s a handful of contestants who could be eliminated this weekend, but if I had to pick one then it would be Toyah,” she said.

“Fundamentally, she didn’t perform the choreography, whereas everyone else performed it to an extent.

"I think she has a real foot problem too, then her nerves seemed to get the better of her because she began rushing and speeding her movements, like people do when they’re nervous.

"I know she’s a seasoned performer on television, but perhaps because she’s so good at that then not as confident when dancing on stage means she just wanted to get through it as quickly as possible – it looked like she was keen for the routine to end.

“I’d also say Toyah was also trying to overperform in some aspects to try and hide some of her shortcomings.

"I’d say she is a most risk at leaving this weekend, but it could also be one of Paul Merson, Wynne Evans and Nick Knowles in my book.

"One by one they will be knocked out in the first few weeks, which in turn will let the stronger contestants develop more and come into their own.”

However, fans were furious as they slammed the judges for their scoring and insisted some of the blame should be placed at Neil's feet.

Hitting out online, one said: "If Neil Jones carried Toyah around so her feet didn’t reach the floor, the criticism should be his. #Strictly."

Another echoed: "I did expect Toyah to be better than she was actually.

"Neil didn't help by dragging her around either. It reminded me of the year Anton dragged Anne Widdecombe along the floor!".

Before someone else added: "And this is why Neil rarely gets a partner!"

This week, Toyah will be dancing the Jive to “Nutbush City Limits” by Ike and Tina Turner.

Can she impress the judges this time round with the fast and bouncy dance? Or will it be another low score?
