You’ve really done it this time, Sonny Corinthos. In the May 18 episode of General Hospital (recapped here), Port Charles’ resident “good” mobster left daughter Kristina clutching her belly and looking like she was about to lose the baby that she is carrying for sister Molly and her significant other TJ.
Does Kristina actually miscarry? “No” is the answer on which we’d bet, because of the incredible conflict that promises to follow when she decides that she can’t give up the child and enters into a custody battle with Molly and TJ. How could the show resist the temptation to play out that drama with Alexis, Sam and Blaze doing their best to play referee?
As it is, Kristina has already become attached to the little life that she is carrying — so much so that it seemed to upset her pregnancy when she witnessed her dad beating the living daylights out of Dex for having a nice time at Chase and Brook Lynn’s wedding. All but frothing at the mouth, the don, who is so far off his meds that he’s off his rocker, yelled that he was going to put a gun to the heads of traitors Dex and Jason.
Traumatized, Kristina held her belly as if the entrée at the reception hadn’t agreed with her. But we all know that more is going on than that. In the May 21 episode, Kristina’s girlfriend Blaze insists that she go to the hospital. Meanwhile, Sonny has an “Oopsie!” moment when he realizes that his beatdown was seen by his pregnant daughter.
Cue him saying, Urkel style, “Did I do that?”
