Hannah Brown Hopes to Teach ‘BiP’ Cast Not to Miss the Red Flags — Like She Did on ‘The Bachelorette’ tram

With Hannah Brown and Wells Adams available to give advice on the beaches of Costa Rica, the cast of Bachelor in Paradise should have plenty of help finding The One.

“My season was fun, but there were definitely some red flags missed,” the 30-year-old former Bachelorette told Us Weekly on set of BiP before the cameras started rolling. “I really think you have to learn to trust yourself and I don’t know if I knew how to do that during my season.”

Bachelor Nation will recall Hannah’s brief engagement to Jed Wyatt on season 15 of The Bachelorette, which aired in 2019. They split while the show was airing over claims that the aspiring country singer already had a girlfriend.

“So really just when somebody says something — believe them,” Hannah told Us. “If there’s something that you might think, ‘Huh, that’s odd.’ It is odd.”

Speaking of her season, when asked which one of her suitors should come to Paradise, Hannah said Peter Weber. “I feel like most of the guys on my season aren’t single. I think the only one I can really think of is Peter,” she said. “I’m sure he would do great.”

Wells, who has been the show’s bartender since season 4, acknowledged that Hannah brings something to the show that he can’t — both literally and emotionally.

“I think that she is bringing champagne in for rose ceremonies, which is good ’cause that’s a pain in the ass. I’m glad I don’t have to do that anymore,” Wells, 41, joked. “And listen, she’s going to bring a different perspective. Obviously, having a female perspective for advice and stuff is gonna be helpful.”

For his part, Wells declared he’s never given bad advice. “I was always right and if I was ever wrong, we cut it from the show,” he said with a laugh.

Hannah’s role isn’t the only thing that is new on season 10 of BiP. In addition to bringing some Golden Bachelor and Bachelorette cast members on, the show filmed in Costa Rica instead of Mexico for the first time since its 2014 debut.

“[The setup] is a lot different. I used to have a beach bar and now it’s a swim bar, which is awesome,” Wells told Us before he quipped, “But also, I feel like people are gonna be peeing in front of me.”

When it comes to the drink preferences, Wells doesn’t think the location matters. “It’s always the same thing. It starts with, ‘I want a margarita, I want a daiquiri,’ like, elevated cocktails. And then it always just devolves to a tequila soda,” he said.

Host Jesse Palmer is “super excited” for the change of scenery.

“I think Costa Rica’s a perfect backdrop for Bachelor in Paradise,” he told Us. “Not only do we have the beach, we have this unbelievable tropical jungle behind us. It’s sexy. I think it’s mysterious and I think it’s romantic.”
