Hannah Berner Accused of “Microaggression” Against Megan Thee Stallion for Suggesting Meg’s Music Makes Her “Want to Fight” as Fans Signal “Stereotyping” and Slam Her as “Unprofessional” tram

Hannah Berner is under fire on Instagram after an interview with Megan Thee Stallion.

After chatting with the musician on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday night, the 33-year-old Summer House star is being accused of a “microaggression” and racism and stereotyping after suggesting that the 30-year-old artist’s music makes her “want to fight.”

“You give so much confidence to women everywhere. What do you do when you’re not feeling confident?” Hannah began on March 2, as seen in a video shared by The Neighborhood Talk on Instagram.

Then, after getting emotional, telling Megan that she was “gonna cry,” things took a turn.

“Your music has literally, like, made me want … when I want to fight someone I listen to your music. When people are talking sh*t, I go, ‘Turn on Megan Thee Stallion!’” Hannah declared.

Also in Hannah’s interview with Megan, she gave a nod to the “many dark things” she’d been through as she applauded her for being an inspiration to others.

“I’ve never seen her this passionate,” noted Paige DeSorbo, 32, who was co-hosting the interview.

But after the clip was shared on social media, many expressed disgust over Hannah’s comments.

“I found this interview incredibly unprofessional and annoying,” one person wrote.

“Very micro aggressive,” another noted. “[Meg’s] music isn’t about fighting and the fangirling is a spectacle. Please hire real interviewers that know how to talk to black women as PEOPLE and not characters.”

As comments continued, Hannah was accused of suggesting that Megan was violent even though she doesn’t put out music about fighting.

“Talking over her, unable to keep their composure, calling her violent when she never raps about violence (& is actually a victim of violence), hmmmm,” someone stated.

“Megan doesn’t have a single song about fighting,” another person mentioned.

Someone else flat out said that “the racism is LOUD!”

“The [microaggression] of stereotyping the ‘angry black woman’ [trope]. The [segue] of her documentary was ‘so dark’ … Cohost tried to save her so it’s not their last day. WHAT IS THE HIRING PROCESS WTF?” wondered another IG user.

Hannah Berner was featured on Summer House from season three through season five.
