GOTTA SEE IT: Tom Wilson Has Golden Response After Being Punched By Evgeni Malkin trucc

The Capitals right wing turned to comedy after taking a jab from the Penguins star.

WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals' first game against the Pittsburgh Penguins this season saw tensions rise as they renewed their rivalry, and Tom Wilson and Evgeni Malkin found themselves in the middle of it.

Malkin and Wilson's lines got into a scrum after the whistle, and Malkin went in for a punch on Wilson, who was holding Erik Karlsson. The Capitals alternate captain had quite the response for it, too.

Wilson looked over at Malkin, amused, before blowing a raspberry in his direction. It was a subtle response as he chose not to hit back. It was the smart choice, and there were ultimately no penalties on the play.

Through 13 games this season, Wilson has six goals and four assists for 10 points, along with 11 penalty minutes.

Washington ultimately fell to Pittsburgh, 3-2.
