The Real Housewives of New York City” star, Bethenny Frankel, told fans on April 17 that she’s making a monumental change in her life.
“I have some news to share with you. I’ve been waiting ’til I got here to tell you, but I am moving to Florida for personal and professional reasons. Something has arisen that made this the best and healthiest decision for myself and my daughter,” she said in an Instagram reel.
The former reality star added, “We will maintain residences in the Hamptons and New York City because we love New York, but this will be our primary and permanent residence.”
Panning to the ocean, Frankel told viewers, “This will be my backyard.”
In the caption, she wrote, “Excited to share this with you … It’s been a concept for a while, but personal & private circumstances have made this the healthiest life choice.”
Frankel Sold Her NYC Apartment Years Ago
Frankel has been a New York City fixture for decades, but in 2022, she made the decision to sell her apartment in Manhattan, the New York Post reported.
According to Frankel’s rep, Jill Fritzo, the reality star is ready to leave the Big Apple. “Her residences will be in the Hamptons and Connecticut,” she told the publication.
A source revealed to the Post, “She will live in Connecticut, and when it’s summer or the weather gets hot, she will head out to the Hamptons. I’m sure she will be back in New York City again. Just with the pandemic and everything else going on, it just won’t be now.”
In March 2022, Frankel told Fox 5 New York, “I’m not going to lie. I walk with my daughter. We had multiple incidents. She cringes now. She won’t walk down the street without digging into my hand. It’s not what it used to be.”
The “RHONY” star shared, “It is not the same city that we used to have. It’s got to get under control. I feel like it’s the place to dip in for business and to maybe get a meal, but I don’t feel like risking my life.”
Other ‘RHONY’ Stars Have Ties to Florida
“The Real Housewives of New York” star Ramona Singer is known for her love of Palm Beach, Florida, and is a frequent partygoer there.
“Toasting to another great time in #PalmBeach this season as always!!!! thank you @pbacchini for the best #cocktail party,” she shared in an April 16 Instagram post.
On April 7, Singer posted a pic of her on an exclusive resort and wrote, “Sunday at the Breaker’s. Love this golf outfit by my gf.”
“RHONY” star Sonja Morgan also left NYC for warmer weather and purchased a West Palm Beach condo in 2024 for $600,000, the New York Post reported.
While smaller than her Manhattan townhouse, the condo features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a waterfront view. It also offers luxury amenities such as a doorman, swimming pool, and gym.
