A former contestant from “Dancing with the Stars” shared a heartfelt post on social media in the wake of losing a beloved family member. Season 29 DWTS alum Chrishell Stause revealed on March 17 that her treasured dog Gracie had died.
Chrishell Stause Said Her Dog Gracie Died Peacefully
Stause took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute to Gracie. She wrote, “Our beloved Gracie left us peacefully today. Thank you to anyone that was a friend to her and helped make her life here better.”
She continued, “It’s impossible to post a fraction of the joy this angel brought me.”
Gracie was at the animal shelter in Burbank, California before Stause adopted her. In honor of her pup, Stause noted that for the next week, all adoption fees at the shelter would be covered if people mentioned Gracie’s name.
A handful of photos added to the Instagram post gave fans a glimpse into Stause and Gracie’s life together. It appeared that Stause’s partner, musician G. Flip, had grown quite close to the pup as well.
Fans & Colleagues Showered Stause With Love
In January 2023, Stause shared a bit about her life with Gracie in an Instagram post. She wrote, “Adopted Gracie when she was 6, she is 12 now. She is a little terrier mix and has me wrapped around her little paws.”
After sharing the news that Gracie had died, Stause posted a follow-up in an Instagram Story. “I’m reading all the message(s) and texts coming in. They really do feel like receiving a much needed hug,” Stause wrote.
She added, “But don’t have the energy to respond right now. But truly thank you.”
Stause also shared a photo of a dog she was hoping would soon find a new home. “Astrid” has been at the Burbank Animal Shelter for two years, she wrote. She reiterated her plan to cover all adoption fees at the shelter for the next week and suggested that Astrid might be the perfect fit for the right home.
Colleagues and fans shared their condolences with Stause in the comment section of her post. “Dancing with the Stars” pro Sasha Farber left a string of red heart emojis.
Stause’s partner G. Flip wrote, “You were the most amazing momma to Gracie darling x.”
A fan replied, “@gflip you were such a great dog parent too, it was obvious even from pics and videos that Gracie loved you!”
“Chrishell I remember Gracie and she was a sweet angel. I’m sorry that she’s passed, hope you are ok,” added “Dancing with the Stars” pro Emma Slater.
