The Love Island 2024 star has officially filmed her first TOWIE scenes
The news that TOWIE’s Roman Hackett was dating Love Island star Matilda Draper shook us to our very core at the end of last year because if there’s one thing that really gets us going it’s a crossover reality TV romance.
After weeks of speculation, the Love Island 2024 star finally confirmed she was loved up with Roman last month and rumours that she would be joining him on the ITVBe show began swirling almost immediately.
Well, as Lizzo once said, all the rumours are true as Matilda has been spotted filming her first TOWIE scenes alongside Roman and, erm, his ex.
A first look at Matilda’s TOWIE debut shows her enjoying a night out at an Essex bar with Roman before they come face-to-face with his on/off romantic interest Dani Imbert.
Although the encounter has the potential to be all kinds of awkward, it appears Matilda and Dani’s meet is far from a slanging match as the reality stars are all smiles.
It seems any bad blood between Roman and Dani has been put to bed too as the former flames greeted each other with a kiss on the cheek before catching up about his new relationship.
And although it’s early days for Roman and Matilda, the couple are clearly head over heels as they were pictured holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes before she got to know some of his co-stars.
Matilda rose to fame on the most recent summer series of Love Island, where she coupled up with candy man Sean Stone. They finished the show in third place but split soon after.
While her co-stars Ronnie Vint and Grace Jackson have gone on to appear on the second series of All Stars, Matilda recently revealed she pulled out of negotiations for the show after meeting Roman.
Speaking on the Not My Bagg podcast, she explained, ‘I was speaking to them before, before I got with Ro and then as soon as I got with Ro, I just thought, “There's no point.”’
Although she’s only just joined the TOWIE cast, Matilda has already got the seal of approval from Essex OG Harry Derbidge, who recently told Closer, ‘Roman seems very, very happy, which is lovely.’
He added, ‘I spoke to Roman the other day, and I was like, "I can't wait to meet her.” Hopefully we can all get a dinner set in soon.’
