Ferne McCann admits 'friendship breakups are underestimated' after THAT fallout with former pals Billie Shepherd and Sam Faiers liennhi

Ferne McCann has admitted that 'friendship breakups are underestimated' after falling out with former close pals Sam Faiers and Billie Shepherd.

The ex-TOWIE stars have been at odds since voice notes were leaked of Ferne calling Sam, 34, a 'fat c***' on social media in 2022.

Ferne, 34, and Billie, 35, grew up together in Essex and have known each other for more than 20 years, during which time they enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame on reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex, before appearing in their own respective shows.

Despite Ferne previously apologising and admitting she was 'ashamed and embarrassed' of her words, Billie still doesn't speak to her former pal.

And now, Ferne has seemingly reflected on the friendship as she commented support under Alexis Lee's Instagram post, who is currently in a feud with her ex-best friend Cherry Healey.

The duo are at odds over a joint book deal and Alexis took to Instagram this week to explain what happened.

Showing her support and drawing on her own experiences, Ferne quipped: 'Hope you’re ok. I hear you friendship breakups are totally underestimated. So tough. Sending love.'

In the series premiere of her show Ferne's First Time Mum, Ferne confessed she recorded the 'hurtful' messages because she was envious of Sam at the time.

On the show, Ferne claimed to know who was behind the leak, which saw an anonymous Instagram account, called Lady Whistledown after the Bridgerton gossip sharer, post voice messages from a woman they claimed was Ferne last year.

One heard a woman's voice label one of acid attacker Arthur Collins 'victims a 'silly b****' while another saw Ferne accused of body-shaming Sam.

She said during the episode: 'I'm so ashamed and embarrassed and I know the words are very hurtful. It was from a time when I was really hurting, and in a very vulnerable and bad place,' she explained while sat reflecting in her car.

'They were from about five years ago when me and Sam had a fall out. It's very hard for me to talk about this because I don't want to bring up the past. Would I say those things now? Absolutely not, but those I absolutely apologised for.

'But now because of this hate campaign and this person that has held onto them for five years, to weaponise them against me, I've lost my... I've lost some of my best friends.

'I've lost my whole relationship with Billie, and that really hurts.

'She has been my best friend for so many years, and that plays into where I don't feel whole, I feel really lost. Friendships are so important. And you say things where if you're angry, or if you're hurt, you say things.'

In a confessional, she told viewers that she knows exactly who leaked the voice notes, but alleged they had been edited 'to removed their context'.

She said: 'When I heard the voice notes, I immediately remembered who I'd sent them to but I believe they've since been edited to remove their context.

'Why? Because I think that someone is trying to destroy me and to inflict as much damage into my life as possible. There's only one person that I know would want to inflict this amount of pain and damage onto my life. They destroyed me.'

Ferne's newest comment follows the news that Sam and Billie have announced they are reuniting for a brand new TV series - four years after their hit joint show The Mummy Diaries ended.

The former TOWIE stars shared the exciting news with their Instagram followers on Thursday as they posed for a snap with their TV crew.

Sam and Billie revealed they are ready to give fans a 'fresh look into their lives' in the new fly-on-the-wall ITV show as they continue to navigate their careers and family life.

They penned: 'We’re so excited to be back together for a brand new series, Sam & Billie: Sister Act!

'It’s our first time on screen as a duo since Sam & Billie: The Mummy Diaries ended in 2021.

'Since then, Billie continued with Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries, and now we’re reuniting to give a fresh look into our lives.

'The new series will follow us as we navigate our careers, motherhood, and relationships – and we can’t wait to share this next chapter with you all ✨Coming soon to @itv @potatoitv'.

Fans rushed to the comments to share their excitement after missing the sister duo as they walked separately over the past four years.

They wrote: 'Can’t bloody wait; Yay congrats girls; Can’t wait for this ladies; Yay excited for this; YAAAAAY best news ever!!'

Last year in September Billie quit her long-running ITVBe series The Family Diaries as she wanted to give her three children the chance to 'grow up away from cameras'.

Meanwhile, her sister Sam stepped back from the show three years earlier to focus on her business, Revive Collagen.

It’s understood that Sam was hesitant to return to TV, but ITV made her an offer she couldn't refuse as part of an exclusive golden handcuffs deal.

The opportunity to work alongside her sister again played an important role in her decision.
