A popular Loose Women panelist returned to the show after a year off screens and fans couldn't be more thrilled to have her back on the daytime show.

During Thursday's instalment of the ITV programme, Penny Lancaster, 53, made a gracious return to the panel and discussed her husband Rod Stewart, 79, as well as the latest gossip alongside her fellow panellists Kaye Adams, 61, Frankie Bridge, 35, and Brenda Edwards, 55.

And the model looked nothing short of sensational as she made a glamorous entrance wearing a stylish green floral dress.

After her grand entrance, viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their delight at seeing Penny back on their TV screens.

One fan gushed: 'Penny Lancaster best host on the panel. Could do the show on her own (smile and sunshine emojis).'

While another expressed their shock at Penny's return by saying: 'Oh I say, Kaye! I didn’t realise Penny was back on the show. @kayeadams'

Elsewhere in the show, Frankie made a cheeky joke about Rod Stewart which left the other panellists in hysterics.

At the beginning of the chat show, Penny revealed that Rod is going to attempt to set a world record in the fastest sprint for a 79-year-old.

An impressed Kaye then says: 'I think we really are changing our attitude towards how we age, and keeping fit, and moving as much as you can because obviously (gesturing towards the camera) people have other health conditions.'

She continued: 'I mean certainly I make my Instagram feed full of people, that like Rod, are really inspirational, really keeping fit, rather than just kind of giving up.'

She then joked to Frankie: 'I'm not talking to you, you're too young'

Frankie laughed and responded with: 'I mean, this whole time I'm thinking god, my joints hurt all the time, I'm like I really need to get moving, I need more Rod in me really.'

The rest of the women on the panel were then left in shock at Frankie's unintentionally rude joke, before breaking out into a fit of giggles.

Kaye then joked to Brenda: 'Do you need a bit more Rod in you?' To which Brenda, who appeared lost for words, quipped: 'No, It's just safer for me to say no'.

The discussion about the rocker comes after he informed his fans earlier this month that he would be missing a planned gig and another the following evening after testing positive for Covid-19.

The news came days after Rod was forced to cancel his historic 200th Las Vegas show as well due to suffering from strep throat.

The statement confirmed that the concerts had been moved to a later date in August, giving Rod time to recover from his illness.

The full statement read: 'We regret to announce that tonight's Rod Stewart concert in Stateline, NV and his August 10 show in Lincoln, CA have been postponed, as the singer recovers from a summer strain of Covid-19. '

'The Lincoln, CA concert at Thunder Valley Casino will now be on August 18 and his concert at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys in Stateline, NV concert will now be August 20. Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored for the rescheduled shows.'
