The Love Island 2024 star was linked to former TOWIE lothario Pete earlier this year
Given that our favourite reality stars all run in the same circles, it’s no surprise that the stars of Love Island and TOWIE either find themselves at the centre of romance rumours and sometimes even end up dating for real (hiya, Matilda Draper and Roman Hackett).
One rumour that was doing the rounds earlier year was that Love Island 2024 OG – who was done very dirty in the villa, if you ask us – was dating former TOWIE playboy Pete Wicks after they were spotted on a night out together.
Neither Samantha nor Pete had spoken out on the rumours until now, but that all changed when we caught up with the 2024 Islander earlier this week. You know we had to get the goss.
Speaking exclusively to Closer, Samantha revealed exactly what went down with Pete and it turns out they were never anything more than friends.
‘Me and Pete are friends. I’ve literally known Pete since I came out of the villa,’ she told us.
‘We’re just really good friends. We bumped into each other outside of Amazonico and give each other a hug and the next minute we’re [rumoured to be] dating.’
She added, ‘He’s a fabulous person. He’s so funny and so handsome.’
Although she’s not dating Pete, Samantha did reveal there’s a new fella in her life.
‘I have been seeing someone recently. I don’t think I’ll ever date anyone in the public eye and that’s the only people I tend to meet. I think a private life is a happy life,’ she explained.
But we could potentially get a soft launch on social media as Samantha added, ‘When I’m with someone I love a little arm in the background [of a picture] or a little date night caption, but I don’t think I’d completely put it out there.’
