The special episode of the ITV show will air during Mental Health Awareness Week
Loose Women is set for a major change next week as Loose Men will return with three familiar faces, but first-time panellists.
The special episode will air on Thursday, May 15, which falls during Mental Health Awareness Week. In a new promo, Craig Doyle tells viewers “nothing is off limits” as he’s joined by first time Loose Men panellists, Charles Spencer, Sam Thompson and Dr Amir Khan.
Continuing to tackle the taboos of talking about mental and physical health, the panel will open up on the issues impacting men in today’s world - from navigating modern fatherhood, exploring couples' counselling and maintaining a strong bond with your siblings.
With new research suggesting men are more likely to check sports results than they are to check for changes in their body, Craig will also receive a head-to-toe health MOT as Dr Amir shares the things viewers at home can do and look out for themselves.
Ahead of the show, first-time Loose Men panellist Sam said: "I’ve genuinely always wanted to join Loose Men. I’ve done Loose Women & Men before but this is my first time on the Loose Men panel and it’s an absolute pleasure to be joining Charles, Dr Amir and Craig.
"No doubt we’ll have some classic lunchtime laughs but I’m also looking forward to some honest and heartfelt discussions. It’s a real honour to be on the panel, I am really looking forward to it."
On his debut, Charles shared: "What a privilege to be part of the quartet with Craig, Dr Amir and Sam. It’s quite humbling to be part of a programme that will hopefully encourage many men to take good care of themselves but it will be great fun and I’m looking forward to every minute of it."
Dr Amir, who is a regular on ITV's Lorraine, also commented: “I’m really excited to be joining Loose Men to shine a light on something close to my heart - men’s health. As blokes, we’re often terrible at talking about how we feel or checking out symptoms when something’s not right.
"I’ll be sharing some life-saving signs and symptoms that every man (and lots of women) should know and explaining why being more aware of our physical and mental health isn’t just important, it’s essential. Looking after yourself doesn’t make you weak, it makes you wise. Let’s break the stigma, open up the conversation and help more men live longer, healthier, happier lives."
Craig also added: "I’m back in the Loose Men hot seat and this time I’m joined by an unmissable new panel with an Earl, a Doctor and King of the Jungle!
"It’s so important for us men to talk, but to also have a laugh with one another and hopefully we can encourage those watching that it's okay to do both with your mates.
"Plus, we'll be revealing the results of my full health MOT with Dr Amir, highlighting key signs to check for at home. If I can do it on television, you absolutely can too."
