Chef Kevin Dundon won’t be showing off his newfound glamour on Dancing With The Stars this weekend as he’s dressing up as the beloved Shrek. The 58-year-old is turning green on Sunday night for the competition’s Movie Week.

He will dance to one of the most iconic songs from the children’s film, I’m a Believer by Smash Mouth. Viewers will see if the celebrity chef can dance better as an ogre after he scored 18 points last week with judge Karen Byrne saying he had “a few dodgy moments”.

Kevin won’t be the only contestant making a dramatic transformation this weekend. Olympic gold medal-winner Rhys McClenaghan is putting on his spidey suit as he will open the show with a charleston to the theme from Spider-Man.

The gymnast has wowed judges with his performances so far as his athletic build and flexibility have helped him on the dancefloor. Last week he sat at the top of the leaderboard with his pro partner Laura Nolan as they scored 30.

Olympian Jack Woolley is also sure to be slapping on the facepaint for this weekend's show. The Taekwondo star and his pro partner Alex Vladimirov will take on the roles of supervillains The Joker and Harley Quinn.

They will be performing the iconic tango to Lady Gaga’s version of The Joker from the musical Joker: Folie à Deux. Kin actress Yasmin Seky will be channeling her inner Disney princess for Movie Week.

The 26-year-old beauty and her partner Simone Arena will be performing the first contemporary ballroom of the season to How Far I’ll Go from Moana. Children will also be delighted to see social media star Kayleigh Trappe and her partner Ervinas Merfeldas take on a Quickstep to the title track from The Aristocats.

Comedian Gearóid Farrelly is set to bring all the theatrics as he will transform into The Artful Dodger on Sunday night. He and his pro partner Stephen Vincent will be hoping for high scores from the judges for their take on Oliver track Consider Yourself.

Ireland AM presenter Elaine Crowley will also be catering to musical theatre fans. She will be putting on her best 60s-inspired gown as she and partner Denys Samson will be dancing the energetic jive to Hairspray’s You Can’t Stop the Beat.

Following in Paul Mescal’s footsteps, Mrs Brown’s Boys actor Danny O’Carroll and his partner Salome Chachua will be hoping to deliver the drama with a paso doble to Now We Are Free from Gladiator. Comedy classics will also be represented in Movie Week.

Former Miss Universe Ireland Aishah Akorede and Robert Rowiński will take on a cha-cha-cha to Rescue Me by Fontella Bass from Sister Act. Meteorologist Joanna Donnelly and her partner Maciej Zieba will dance a quickstep to Mrs Robinson by Simon and Garfunkel from the 1960s classic, The Graduate.

And the biggest cinematic release of the year will not be forgotten in Sunday night’s show. At the end of the programme, the Dancing with the Stars professional dancers will defy gravity with a special group number from Wicked.

All of the dancers will be hoping to show off their best skills in this week’s show as a second elimination will take place. Viewers were left shocked last Sunday when Mickey Joe Heart became the first contestant to be dumped.

The glitz, glamour, and nail-biting competition will continue on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Sunday, January 26th at 6:30pm.
